Plants vs. Zombies 2 - Dark Age Level 12

Hello, how do I keep the mushrooms alive in Dark Age Level 12. They need to be protected but i couldn‘t figure out how to keep them alive because they dissolve after some time. Does anyone have the same problem or knows the solution?
