Progress Loss

I decided to reinstall pvz2 on a new phone, using the same account that I had always used and had years worth of progress on said account. When I went to sync my ea account, I noticed something unusual as it did not give me the identity conflict screen and I didn’t get to choose to continue where I had previously left off. I am now stuck back on the tutorial and I do not want to start over again after grinding many hours to get the things I had worked hard on getting. Is there a way to fix this issue or do I have to start over from square one again?
