PVZ2 constantly crashing

Starting a couple of weeks ago the game constantly crashes and I have to restart it.  Sometimes it happens in the middle of a game, sometimes while the game is loading. It is constant. The game is practically unplayable now.  I have 2 iPads and it is happening on both so I don’t think it’s an issue with my device.  Is anyone else experiencing this? I have played this game for years and it’s sad that it has cone to this. Please fix it.
