The newly introduced mirrored damaged from Zomboss in combination of the Bruisez of Appeasemint and Arma-mint family plants making this one of the challenging boss fight for a long time.  It is true that if you have not obtained Headbutter Lattuce and getting it to a reasonable level, then you will be really struggling, even passing the 20M mark.

For those lucky players blessed with mid-high level HBL,below are my takes on Zomboss with my level 8 profile and 30M+ is possible, and with good RNG, it peaks at 36M. 

@Perfume-shroom92   That should do. The video link below actually shows good score can be achieved with level 3 plants.

@Perfume-shroom92   No, if you watch the video at time = 7:15, it is Headbutter Lattuce with Squash and the frozen mint exploit.

EDIT.  If might take a few practices to get the zomboss stun-locked by HBL

I use following setup that works for level 7+, activate mower launch to get 2 plant foods then use on red power tiles.

@ImNoob2009   Wow, Ultomato (and being boosted by Fill-mint), how did I forget this fearsome plant.  

Great strategy and a very good score, it even beats the scores I get with mastery plants.   Will give this a try later and thanks for sharing.

Activating a mower launch to get a couple of early plantfood is another good tip.

Teleportato mine. @FantastiXxPVZ 's m200 9m+ strategy with non-nastery plants.

Plant the occasional Teleportato_Mine at c9, r3 and use any spare plantfood on a stickybomb/peavy.

Imps land on c3 but get stunned by shine vine.

PRO TIP; If you put it into turbo and wait 10 seconds you will get a massive burst of sun on starting.

EDIT;You can use threepeater instead of stickybomb, it scores slightly less but it does work.

Try these, not as high scoring 

(around 6m) but EAsier.

My level 10 profile have now joined @MAGICDAVESHROOM 's 8M club thanks to the strategy from  @FantastiXxPVZ . It is averaging 8M and with a lucky RNG, I think I can start knocking on the 9M club's door.  👿

Will try the same strategy on level 8 profiles later tonight and see how far it gets.

I think you are right about the plant levels for this strategy.  I managed to play 10 games with my level 8 profile this morning and the best I get is below 6M.

However, having reviewed the Bowling Bulb strategy from Long Wu, TheRealGamer and TheMaruMari, I think it is a better one for lower level plants. 

I tried it and now have an average of 6M+.  Maybe you can give this strategy a try.

Note: not sure how well this works with lower level plants but Draftodil really helps to take care of throw imps and swinging zombies as well as slowing down the attacks. 

Pigs best so far. I'm down in Silver. Couldn't play much last 2 weeks due to moving. Just about settled in at my new place. Gawd I don't want to move again.

My best for Week 201 Explode-o-Nut boosterama so far.

13M club is now open.

It took 3 rounds of 7 streaks to to get my level 8 profile to join the 13M.  

I have to put 4x Explode-o-Nut on column 9 to give me more time at the beginning to setup my boosted EoN on column 7, but I guess more might be required if EoN is at a lower level.
