Re: Lost all my progress - who to contact?

@TWooten39

If you signed up for EA's email registration scheme then you can get a unique code sent to your email address to restore your account from the backup servers.

This takes about 5 minutes.

If you  have your player id number, you can contact EA HELP CENTER by tapping on help center at the bottom of this page.

Please note that EA can't/ won't restore an account without your player id number so please screenshot it and keep it safe.

If you have a new profile and can't get EA to recover your old one from the backup servers, they will add plants to your new startup account if you have proof of purchase from your purchase history.

I have emailed them, and been on EA chat. I was told I would have to go through Google to restore my purchases and progress. When he asked if he could help me with anything else, I told him "You have been no help at all. I looked at Google pay, to see if I could restore from there. From what I've read,  it says to contact the Vendor to restore lost progress.

That EA HELP operative was incorrect, clEArly Zombies have been nibbling his brainz.

Firstly, if you signed up to EA's email registration scheme then you can get a unique code sent to your email address to restore your account (usually takes 5 minutes).

Secondly, EA has huge backup servers that will have your gamedata saved PROVIDED that you can give them your unique player id number.

They recently changed their format recently and as many players (such as myself) use more than one device, they have added a device identification number as well to help with problem solving.

Google will not be able to help- in your case you need administrator access and only EA HELP CENTER can provide that.

You could try loading pvz2 through the Google playstore just to see what happens, but i suspect nothing will.

Pvz2 has a lot of bugs, and will continue to do so unless they stop focusing on coming up with new plants and put some dev time into bug fixing.

About the worse thing that can happen is loss of gamedata, and many players have lost accounts permanently, as well as the money they spent on buying in game content because they didn't keep a screenshot of their player id number somewhere safe.

I emailed them my screenshot with my player ID, in the email I explained what the problem is.  That was two day ago, they really screwed me. I started playing PVZ2 from the beginning, made it to day 12 in Pirates so I could access the Arena. As soon as I entered Arena, it told me I placed 6th in the Jade tournament. So EA has my ID, knows my past achievements 66/75 according to my profile. According to Google my account should save my games, I think EA deleted some of our accounts when fixing that "Data Download" bug a few days ago.

EA has permanently lost player accounts before when their servers crashed.

They were able to get most of them back eventually, but EA are the ones that you should be talking to.

You are not the first player that this has happened to and you won't be the last, just look through the forum and you will probably find thousands of players with the same problem as you.

    Talk to EA.

  • I got my problem solved by contacting the EA directly through PvZ2 game. When in game, click on the wrench icon, then on "Help" and follow instructions.

This was quite helpful.  I even did a chat with EA and all they did was send me to a bogus website that had something to do with playing z defunct game.  The info about registering your email address really helped.  The glitch in the game that caused all this still exists, but I got back most of my progress.  Thaks

The email registration scheme is a good idEA, but they need to tell everyone, especially new players, to sign up to it.

It can only help recover a lost account if it was signed up to before the account disappEAred.

EA HELP CENTER are the only people who can help fix problems because only they have administrative access and run the backup servers.
