The whole purpose of registering an email address to PVZ2 account (to tie them together) was that it offers cross platform support, what good would it be if it no longer sync correctly on devices running different platforms?  There are players who use android phone and iPad or Apple iPhone with Samsung tablet.

Since you already have it working correctly on IOS, I would suggest to take a risk and ask if they can help to re-register this working account with a new email address. 

Once this is done, chances are, you might then be able to do a re-installation of PVZ2 on the Android device and re-register with the new email address. Otherwise, an account with beginner resources is next to useless in your situation.
