At 2.04 you achieve 3k+7k stage and keep that for the rest of the game

At 1.45 you use a PF

At 1.35 Blockheads appear and you keep them until the end

At 1.15 you use another PF

The best I've done is get Blockheads around 1.20 or so, but they switch back to Buckets, I can never keep them coming

With the WW strategy I don't get Blockheads, or Hamsterballz get me, or Blockheads dissappear

With Pokra only need to find a way to keep the Blockheads coming

BTW, I noticed that if a PV gets destroyed by a Hamsterball (or zombie) I get a penalty (Coneheads appear or I lose the 3k+7k stage)

I thought all Vines were penalty-free ?

Vines were no penalty free but i noticed in my low scoring matches vine are crushed by hamsterballs.

From Tigerol's tourney thread on Reddit:

"If some Spike fails (frozen/destroyed) then Pyre at C7 is a last defense against Hamsterballz. Hamsterball slows significantly after crushing any plant. Pyre is a defensive plant, so no penalty for losing it. If any Pyre at C7 gets destroyed then it's better to replant it first."

It has been stated multiple times and until this tourney, that's how Vines worked afaik

Those blockheads seem to show up whenever they feel like it, there doesn't seem to be any set trigger for them.

@HypnoDjurre That's correct Vines don't give a penalty. I'm not sure why the ZDL drops but this has been happening in a lot of the past tournaments that there is a ZDL "roller coaster". This might be a good tournament to figure out what else could cause the ZDL to drop.

I always had the feeling that there is a time factor...so if you don't kill Zombies consistently your ZDL can drop. You basically have to keep killing zombies which is not really possible since in this tournament there is a time gab between the chicken waves. 

We might be smarter when the tournament is live and be played a couple of games.

In the actual tourney I'm finding it easier to get more consistent scores and the occasional higher score

If nothing goes too wrong (a missed Hamsterballz) I'm getting around 3.5m with a high score of 4.2m

@HypnoDjurre I'm seeing the same scores and amount of ice-block guys I saw in practice. Only played like 6 matches on my mid level profile and this is the highest I got. I'm averaging 4.6M+.

I think we need to watch recording of players who only get bucket-head zombies. The only thing I noticed is that when there is a (long) time gap between waves it takes longer until ice blocks appear.

@HypnoDjurre so does it mean you got more iceblock zombies in the actual play than practice then? I wouldn't be joining till tomorrow but i am definitely not doing a recording of my poor gameplay for experimentation purposes xD

I'm not getting the Conehead slump at the start anymore

And I'm specifically playing to trigger the Blockheads by trying to emulate PowerToss strategy

The way it is mostly working for me is to PF the Imp Pear on a power tile, it kills the first wave, the second IP kills the second wave and then plant another IP to kill the third wave in fast succession

Most of the time that triggers the Blockheads for me, they need to be 3 sizeable waves tho

Then if I can hold the Blocks for a while I van get 4m+

Haven't succeeded in keeping Blocks all the way until the end, not sure how to do that, IP lvl5 doesn't refresh fast enough for me

A strategy I encountered with MS and BB

Tried it once, got 3.5m

Another one I tried is with Pokra and Spear-mint, also 3.5m

That was practice and i got 2.9m in arena,worth a try for us without pokra or vines

@HypnoDjurre I also tested the Pokra strat yesterday. When I use it I can't trigger Ice-blocks...all I see is bucket heads. I ended up with scores ~3.5M. When I use boosted WW I always get the Ice-block guys.

Having said that I'm safe from hamsterballs in my last match, even though the spikerocks weren't frozen, a hamsterball went straight over the boosted spikerock and through two pyre vines and two pokras without even getting cracked.

This was of course the bottom row, which is where i normally have hamsterball trouble.

You can still pick a Smugprize though.

This was just my first recording, a test, the game itself was not very good

@HypnoDjurre So here my recordings. Both runs were good. My average score with the Pokra strategy is ~3.5M with a few 4M. I haven't scored under 4M with the Wasabi Whip strategy (unless I fail to dig up and replant the WW fast enough). I don't see much difference in game play between your and my video. You definitely had bad RNG with all the chickens. I only use my plant food earlier. I think I counted like 5 ice-block zombies and then it reset back to bucket heads. When I use WW the ice-blocks keep coming (They reset once but came back quite quickly).

It would be best if you could record a video with the WW strategy to see the difference.

Observations from your WW video:

At 2.20 you enter 3k+7k stage

At 2.02 you use PF

At 1.59 Blockheads appear

From about 50 or so until 33 Block and Bucket switch a couple of times, but at 33 you keep the Blocks

Before 2.20 you don't do anything special, but I have never (not even close) gotten 3k+7k so early

One thing I'm doing different now, I'm not playing in Turbo anymore
