Currently I have received an auto acknowledgement the case is open so gues I will need to wait for a reply from the advisor.
I do not think I can earn my lost gems as these were my 8 years worths efforts so I guess I just have to be patient.

It was a sarcasm.😞 I started playing the game since its launch in 2013, so 11 years earning. My lost is not as heavy yours but still quite significant - 7K gauntlets, 18K gems and 23M coins in the main profile; other profiles suffered less but still a lot. It's just after 2 weeks' useless struggle with EA's help system, I have to accept the possibility that EA will never recover them for me.
Update: EA just closed my case again without giving any explanation.
Update: I managed to have a live chat with the advisor but after a whole morning of various attempts on resetting and reloading the data from the backup server, it seems the only resetting part was occurring on one of my profile (which co-incidentally, the profile that was not corrupted) the other profiles seems to have either no backup or the backup is also corrupted. 😞
Since I have one of my older iPhone still have the correct data, I could play the game as normal but I have to ensure it is not synced to the server until I have unlocked Mangofier and spend as much as I can with my gems on seeds. I guess I should be able to get most of my world plants to M200 after hours of tapping!.
Just to notify that the Failed to sync player data issue is now back again (as of 27th August evening UK time), I have my other phones back up again now just in case.

The moral of the story is, you should never leave too many game resources in the game profile.🥳
