Same here - been playing for MANY YEARS (since well before Covid), have multiple upgrades, coins, gems, etc. - today it reset to the very beginning. Very frustrating!
Problem Solved!
On the EA webpage ... press:
I need help restoring my progress in the game
then scroll down and press:
Chat with us.
They will tell you how to take a screenshot of your player ID and then restore your account.

How? i messaged them last day, my request is still in progress and they dont reply on my problem. Can i ask how to get unique code that will send code on my gmail ?
 Unfortunately plagued by this issue too. Incredibly frustrating. Hope they can fix it but I’m not holding my breath. On the bright side, it could open up some time for me everyday as I’m not going to play this game again from the beginning after all the progress I have made since it first got released. No way.
