So a few years back I played this game a lot and bought some plants with money but now the game doesn't give me an option to continue on that account. Since then I bought new phone and the old one is gone, my question is. Is there any way to get my old account back ?

Your progress in PvZ 2 would be saved based on whether or not any accounts were linked back when you last played. We don't have any way to manually check or restore progress, but you can take a look at the steps in the link below. Those should walk you through the process of logging back into a prior account to try recovering any progress you'd made in the past, thanks!
