Some complaints and suggestions about PVZ2

In this article, I'm going to make some complaints about the international version of PVZ2.

For the version operated and developed by Slingshot game these years, I have to say, is only marginally better than the Chinese ver of PVZ3. At the very least, it doesn't use AI.

But don't you think it's rather shallow? After completing the main storyline worlds, finishing Penny's Pursuit and Arena, this game has hardly anything new. Apart from occasionally updating some time-limited activities and having each version basically follow the usual update of one or two new plants, there's almost nothing else.

The new zombies, after the raincoat zombie and the two unused characters that secretly became formal, the Dark Ages Castlehead Zombie and Fast Swimmer Zombie, have never been updated either. The new plants have, at least since Tomb Tangler, become increasingly strange and less like the style of PVZ2. Many of them have eerie big eyes and weird reflective leaves, are very template-like and lazy, and what kind of strange aesthetic is this from the employees? Normal people should definitely find them ugly; some look decent, but still don't match the style. The animation has also become increasingly crude and stiff, completely not up to par with the ver developed by Pop Cap Seattle, even not as good as the Chinese version developed by Pop Cap Shanghai and now represented by Talkweb, which is even worse than some mod and fan games. With so many works by previous developers to draw upon, why are you still doing so poorly?

The crossover and tied-up is also very negative. You know, this IP is said to be unsuitable. Look how long it's been since the last crossover. You even restrict the crossover with other IP of the Chinese ver next door. Isn't this a great opportunity to make money? Look at the crossovers in the past; they were all quite good. Even if you don't cross with other IPs, at least have an internal cross, like the pinata event with Heroes before. Recently, there still have been series crossover, but none of them have the 2i part. They are only Replanted, 3i and 3c that have slightly collaborated.

I remember around 2013-14, right before or after the release of PVZ2i, there was even an internal creative guideline circulating online. Now, I feel that many of these plants probably violate that guideline. And why hasn't Zcorp's boss and the remaining vines been completed? How long have we been waiting? My opinion is that if you don't want to update PVZ2 but want to fully focus on developing PVZ3 Evolved, it would be better to just end 2i. If you still want to update, you should do it well and not be so perfunctory.

I suspect that you really don't pay much attention to other social media except the official forum. Otherwise, the information wouldn't be so blocked and basic, and you would just immerse yourself in your own art. For the current PVZ2i, if you have watched one or two of the many social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, x, Instagram, Reddit, Discord, Bilibili, QQ, Red Note, Baidu Tieba, TikTok, Weibo, etc., you would understand what players want and what they are dissatisfied with, and it wouldn't be like this now. Even the official forum is the same. At least you should convey our opinions to the development team. Many times, I feel that you might just give a formulaic reply like "We will convey your opinion" and that's it. All I can say is that you have never failed to disappoint the players when it comes to disappointing them.

Anyway, regardless of that, I wish this game could thrive and that the entire PVZ series and your company could continue to develop well.
