Just saw this comment on reddit:
People don't seem to realize that my problem is not the Seed Packets for Sweet Potato, but getting the Plant itself. I don't have it, and it's not appearing in the shop.
I guess I should assume it's going to do what Ghost Pepper did last event and wait until about the middle of the event before appearing for Gems.
It will probably be in the food fight event, which should be soon but it's not a very useful plant.
