PvZ 3 idea instead of plant leveling
while I don’t mind having to gain packets to unlock plants I absolutely hate plant leveling so an idea I had is instead of leveling up plants you can upgrade a part of the town when you reclaim it for benefits and this can also play into the customization theme by some decoration giving players a choice of which buff to gain but upgrading the area itself would give better benefits but the obstacles would give smaller benefits. Also you can you fragment or shards or whatever to upgrade the main area and to give players more freedom make shards that can be used for any location.

small amounts of seed packets and fragments per day
sun produces 3% faster
first zombie that enters is chilled
start the battle with a puddle near your house
zombies take 2 seconds longer to spawn
major benefits
additional seed packets
start the battle with additional sun
start the level with additional sun
gain extra lawnmowers with a cooldown
gain abilities that either cost sun with a medium cooldown and/or just have a long cooldown
all plants gain 20% attack speed for the first minute of the level
