This guide is ok but I think you are over emphasizing the attitude and mentality.
You yourself just mentioned that after firing EM Peach, Citron can't fire his laser immediately after. How is this a good thing, at all? Part of the stun is wasted in his own animation/CD/self stun/whatever. It's only beneficial for other plants, sure but it isn't going to save him.
Also I can understand not worrying about kills but you have to at least be able to get assists. You have to earn XP and coins some how and if all you are doing is pecking people with the beam a few times, doing 50-75 damage, getting no assists, and no kills you'll never level up the character.
Low coin count, low experience? Why would anyone play this class again?
I get I need to pick my battles, run around, etc etc. I've started doing that and will continue but being completely passive and not getting any assists or kills is a terrible thing to suggest/imply. Kills, Assists, Heals, revives, and streaks are important not because they get you on the glory podium but it gets you XP and coins. You can't generate XP or coins any other way unless you rather get it all in your backyard.
Map Pressure is good and I saw the value of that while I ran around from place to place, harassing the zombies. However Scientist is very good at this but he gets kills for his effort. I on the other hand have to focus on getting assists or aiding other plants in battle in hopes of getting XP this way. While in the mean time I am shooting my beam I am completely vulnerable to attacks because of how turtle slow I am.
You think someone with 4 legs like a bug/spider would move quicker than that. lol
Yes I'm ranting a bit, I feel I was deceived in his presentation. He's nothing like he appears in the trailer or info. If he had a ninja mask or was depicted more as a stealthy character I wouldn't feel so cheated. Yet he's depicted as a tank and he's so bad at doing what you expect a tank would do. (I'm thinking MMO tank here, mind you)
Well one of the big reasons someone should play Citron is that he can deal with the Superhero/Imp/Scientist Zombie meta - mostly thanks to his EM Peach and his beam attacks. If you catch a 125 hp or lower class out of position, they WILL be dead or hurting if you hit them with the EM Peach. Your success depends on how quickly you can adjust from lobbing the peach correctly to being able to aim and fire your weapon at him - which can be devastating if you can freeze a character in that moment as the Frozen Citron.
He is relatively tanky as a character thanks to his HP and his shield. (He's also surprisingly nimble in ball form and tricky to hit if you do it right) While it doesn't always help at close range, Citron can still do well there (or at mid range) thanks to his abilities. While the Citron can't annihilate people quickly like the Scientist, he DOES have twice the HP, a shield, and an aoe stun that'll usually let you kill a Scientist or Imp no problem - even if they regain mobility.
Another big part of your team's overall success is your team comp. Having too many of one class (Usually Corn plants side) generally hurts rather than helps. For example, all the damage in the world means nothing if you don't have a healer or a tank to peel for you. (Kinda like any MMO)
Experience with any class helps - and Citron is no different. (And having experience with something other than Corn is usually a godsend to a Plant Team's offense or Defense.) I generally do pretty well with the guy myself, but as I implied in my other post, it took time to learn how to play the class. I usually play somewhat aggressively, which usually works out for me - as I always seem to go positive. It helps that you can transform on a dime and roll away quickly if things get too rough.
Part of WHY I enjoy playing Citron so much is that I get to be "THAT GUY" to the enemy team - I LOVE stopping engis from setting up TPs thanks to the Citron's mobility and ability to stay there to harass. I enjoy making overconfident Scientists/Imps/Superheroes cry when I ruin their big pushes/counterpushes with EM Peach. If I'm feeling EXTRA sadistic, I go Frozen Citron for that extra Icy utility - for example, I love to freeze (and later kill) barreled Deadbeards hoping for an easy clutch kill.

Good guide
One thing that should be emphasized a bit more is the Spin Dash. When caught in a Turbo Twister with EMPeach unavailable, do not give up. The moment this happens, turn into Citron Ball and use Spin Dash on or away Super Brainz to escape the situation.
@Redlove108, Citron does have somewhat of a ninja mask accessory. Have it gold currently and it looks amazing on the Party Citron.
