Ability discussion: Chomp cannon, rainbow warp, and twilight warp

Chomp cannon, rainbow warp, and twilight warp.

Chomp cannon-Super rare

Gw2 description: If you're sick of being harassed by Zombies on rooftops, the Chomp Cannon is for you. Hock a loogie in their direction with this disgustingly explosive attack!

Chomper fires a purplish ball of zombits at his opponents but he must first charge up for a few seconds. It deals 100 damage upon a direct hit and can deal up to 50 damage in splash which is much higher than zpg or shuck shot. It has a 15 second cooldown and unlike goop it drops with range but doesn't drop in damage at range.

Rainbow warp-special

Transport yourself across short distances with the magical power of rainbows!

"

Only available to unicorn chomper making it the first ability to be exclusive to a variant.

It acts like scientist's warps but produce a rainbow behind the chomper and produce horse like noises. 2 uses with a 25 second cooldown.

Twilight warp-special

Gw2 description: "Instantly join the fray with this shadowy, long distance warp!"

Acts like cheesy warp in that it goes twice the distance of rainbow warp but can only be used once. 24 second cooldown. Twilight rears his head back before warping.

Unlike rainbow warp it has no invincibility frames. Produces the same horse sounds though.

I honestly really love these abilities. Chomp cannon does what it says and gives chomper a much needed ranged weapon at the expense of goop. It's an amazing ability in lunchtime at the lab because it allows chomper to one shot scientists but isn't a perfect unfalable ranged weapon that can snipe better than snipers *cough slobber shot cough*

The warps feel pretty balanced. Unicorn chomper introduces scientist gameplay to chomper and brings a unique change to his gameplay and can still be swapped out for burrow for those who don't care for it.

Twilight warp being so powerful in range makes sense and fits well due to twilights higher movement speed and damage but lower health and fire rate. It's also a amazing mobility option due to the insane distance it can cover between buildings (the movie theater to the aquarium main building in aqua center for reference

  • Chomp Cannon is a great surprise ability. One-shotting Scientists when they don't expect this weapon is highly amusing and rewarding. I'm a big fan of alternate abilities, when they're worth taking, as they mix things up and it's one reason I prefer GW, GW2, and TF2 over OW. 

    I have the Unicorn Chomper and of course the Twilight Chomper, but Chomper is my least played class and these are my least played variants (barring Disco as he's not good, even if he's fun). These warps are pretty fun but they also have serious issues with terrain in/near the path you're taking, the twilight warp goes crazy far like you point out, so I usually use it to get out of trouble rather than into it!

    @Iron_Guard8 Yeti chomper goes great with chomp cannon for finishing off soldiers on rooftops.

    I dont play twilight chomper much but he's a really fun chomper for ambushes though the warp takes a lot of practice to use well. Disco just needs a buff in general.

    Not going to chat about Chomp Cannon here as I decided to add that to the "Goop" discussion.

    RAINBOW WARP

    Rainbow Warp is an ability that is exclusive to the Unicorn Chomper. No other characters or variants of Chomper are able to have this ability, and you have the option to use the regular Burrow ability instead on Unicorn Chomper if you wish. This ability warps the Chomper in the current direction that you are facing, you only travel about half the distance of the Twilight Warp counterpart, but you get 2 stacks instead of 1. This can be useful for travelling shorter distances at a time, you could use one to get close to an enemy and the other to escape. These abilities are basically identical to each other, except with those minor differences, and they essentially warp you the exact same distances. I think both of these abilities are really cool, being unique to a specific character variant, and the Rainbow Warp can be used in succession to travel a great distance, or at least a single one can be saved for escape or to get even closer to your enemies.

    TWILIGHT WARP

    Twilight Warp is an ability that is exclusive to the Twilight Chomper. No other characters or variants of Chomper are able to have this ability, and you have the option to use the regular Burrow ability instead on Twilight Chomper if you wish. This ability warps the Chomper in the current direction that you are facing, you travel about double the distance of the Rainbow Warp counterpart, but you only get 1 stack instead of 2. This can be useful for mobility, quickly surprising enemies that are far away, and then eating them before they can react. These abilities are basically identical to each other, except eith those minor differences, and they essentially warp you the exact same distances. I think both of these abilities are really cool, being unique to a specific character variant, and the Twilight Warp can be used to travel back to the fight more quickly, and to easily close the distance on your enemies, even on enemies that are far away from you. 

    Conclusion

    These abilities are greatly unique and are great for travelling around quickly and surprising your enemies, and basically being able to outspeed them, making them unable to escape from you as well, especially when paired with Goop or even Spikeweed possibly. I really find these abilities cool, they activate quickly and are a great way to close the distance on your enemies without much of a risk, which are especially great on characters limited to close range.
