Ability discussion: Imp punt and long bomb
Imp punt and long bomb
Imp punt-default
Gw description:
When in doubt, punt an exploding Imp. What's the worst that could happen?
Bfn description:
Kick an explosive Imp who detonates after a short delay.
Gw: When used all star kicks out an exploding imp fan curled up in ball who explodes for 150 damage: to plants around him. He can be reflected but he also pushes players around if he collides with them. 20 second recharge.
Bfn: Here imp punt deals 100 damage but has a 17 sec cooldown with two upgrades.
Long bomb: imp punt travels 22.5% farther. What a way to kill everything that made the alt enjoyable.
Huge fuse:
Deal additional damage when directly hitting an enemy with Imp Punt.
Deal an additional 50 damage by directly hitting an enemy with Imp Punt. Basically just buffing imp punt to gw standard.
Sometimes when used, the Imp Punt will say, "Ka-bang!" before exploding.
Long bomb-Super rare.
Gw description:
Simply put... The only thing more damaging than an Imp loaded with explosives is an Imp who thinks he can fly! Some conditions apply...
Deals 150 damage with a 20 sec cooldown like imp punt but the player can kick higher and further than the normal Imp Punt, which makes it more difficult in close quarters.
In gw1 it wore black clothes. In gw2 it went back to being red like regular imp punt.
Never liked imp punt in any of the games. It could wipe out every plant in gw1 without a health upgrade except armored chomper but all stars followup male it easy to overcome. It can push you back an extreme distance and wipe out entire groups. It was a little better in two just for the sake of plants having more health and options.
In bfn it does 100 damage and I actually like that, too bad it's unbelievably janky leaving it unsatisfying to use with a horrible form of hit detection. The upgrades in bfn also just aren't fun or worth it to use.
I agree with many people who say it needs a windup indication or bigger fuse so it can't be an instawin.
I adore long bomb strangely enough because it opens up far more strategic positioning and gameplay that requires actual skill to pull off so I'm fine with it how it is.
