All about the vanquishes
Not really but you’re here now. Don’t get me wrong, I do love getting a ton of kills. My style runs more on objective base. However sometimes on bad days I enjoy racking them up. In GW1 and 2 I ha...
Going back to GW2 more often these days, I see this massive difference too, even though it is better in BfN. It's been all TT for multiplayer matches in GW2 of course and I prefer to focus on the objective (or getting some of those quests done, waiting for someone to launch a drone to take it out for that particular quest can be highly annoying), but even then it just feels easier to get vanquishes without people sprinting away or entering an invulnerable mode (Rose and Electric Slide) upon taking a single point of damage.
It is a big factor and honestly, one of the biggest problems with BfN is that just getting the game to work properly as far as moving and shooting!
On a related note, healing is very different in GW1 and 2 as well. You get much smaller ticks (2s rather than 6s and 8s and such), and you get less ticks of XP but the XP ticks are larger. When you add in the far more powerful healing in BfN, that is a big part of why it's more difficult to get vanquishes.
Players who do not play the objective and only really care about getting as many vanquishes as possible are actually quite annoying, sometimes you lose games because they really too busy going off and spawn camping or something in overtime on Turf Takeover or something like that. I sometimes do lose because of it, because no one is aiming for the objective. I have seen players do this previously, but gratefully, not particularly often.
@TheSprinter85 True, but @dwooten77 did add 'not really' to his post. I do recall several people complaining about vanquishes and we had that TTK patch largely due to that situation. Part of why I don't like TV and Vanquish Confirmed as much as the other modes is I vastly prefer objective based play, even if some people do only focus on vanquishes. Part of why I miss building teleporters is I liked supporting my team (I was usually a tank or healer in MMOs). Sometimes you could get some brutal fights around them, and if you didn't have help defending them, it could hard to keep them up and running, but that added another dimension to the battle as well.
Edit: One thing I do really like in BfN is the objective master boast for TT. You really should be getting rewarded for pushing the main point of the game mode!
I think what I did wrong is I took the post itself seriously.
I do actually remember that many players were complaining that the TTK was way too low back before last year’s December patch and that is why all primary weapons got buffed significantly. I find it much harder to get Top Vanquishes in this game, because most opponents just sprint or get behind cover when shot. And I am guessing that is one issue that many players had about this game.
