AMD Catalyst 14.7 RC features improvements for PvZ GW (Crossfire/dual graphics)

The new driver from AMD contains several improvements. Please notice it's a beta driver and thus it might still contain bugs although probably not many since it's a release candidate.

Special requirements:

Windows 8.1 (Windows 8 is not longer supported)

Improvements:

  • AMD ​CrossFire and AMD Radeon Dual Graphics profile update for Plants vs. Zombies​​

Feature Highlights of the AMD Catalyst 14.6 RC Driver for Windows (which is included in this driver)

  • Plants vs. Zombies (Direct3D performance improvements):
    • AMD Radeon R9 290X - 1920x1080 Ultra – improves up to 11%
    • AMD Radeon R9 290X - 2560x1600 Ultra – improves up to  15%
    • AMD Radeon R9 290X CrossFire configuration (3840x2160 Ultra)  - 92% scaling

  • Tried it already, and crossfire still doesn't work for 6850's, but it may possibly work for newer cards.

    nope doesnt work for me either 2xr9 270x toxic

    SLI/Crossfire will be improved in an upcoming patch. *

    nVidia and AMD cannot do it by themselves, so it makes sense this still doesn't work optimally.  If you don't believe go to nVidia forums or AMD forums and search for other games that launched without SLI/Xfire support.  Each have their part, it isn't one or the other.

    When the patch drops that fixes this, the drivers/profiles will be in place to take "best" advantage is what this means.  

    The fact that this is based on BF4's Frostbite engine should mean it won't be to much of a problem for them.  I shouldn't assume but I'd bet it's next patch when it comes.

    There are a slew of graphic enhancements/updates incl. better crossfire support.

    Well, with the new patch, 14.7 does indeed allow crossfire to work with 6850's. Awesome!
