I don't quite understand. You have a problem with your child's account. Do you want your child to use plants vs zombies on other platforms or to play newer versions of this game? If a son has some games on platforms, e.g. PS4, if he wants to play a game on a PC via Origin, he should have created a new account on this platform and buy the game that his son wants on Origin. It is not possible to buy a game for consoles and transfer it to PC / Origin.
This is a console problem, evidently for years based on numerous other topics here. I don't want my son playing on the PC, that's why I bought the console edition. Even though he does not want to play online or access any online features, the game will not load without an account. EA accounts are prohibited for minors under 13. The supposed workaround is to use an Origins account, but PvZ refuses to let me login because he's under 13. I don't even get a chance to try his origins login. I tried suspending all parental controls and still no luck.
This is very inconsistent with most games today. No account simply means there are features you do not get, but you can still access the core of the game. I don't understand what's so hard about this that EA can't adopt the same reasoning in their games.
