Balance changes ideas for sniper(Nerf request)

I think sniper heroes are too strong and unfair.(Captain Deadbeard, Cactus)

[My ideas]

・Drone cooldown time  30sec->60sec

Eggsplosion / Garlic Strike damage decrease  65->40

・Full charge headshot damage decrease  99->74

・Killcamera highlight(killed by drone)   drone->hero

  • I agree with everything but fully charged shots (as they’re needed in non TT modes to give snipers a chance at holding their own).

    In Turf, fully charged shots are frustrating when snipers use them to poke and hide exclusively.

    I don't see how they are unfair.   They are good at long range.  they are difficult to use in medium range and you lose the majority of the time at short range.   I honestly think the snipers are fairly balanced right now.  I play mostly TT and don't feel their abilities are unfair at all.

    The drones being used every 30 seconds is a bit much for me.  I also think a character with 90 (or more) hp per single shot shouldn’t have a remote controlled grenade (drone).  

    I like adding a cool down to the drone and decreasing its boom power... but that’s just me.

    I am opposed fully to changing the max zoom damage as it’s high skill/high reward.

    Yeah I do notice I have to get rid of a bunch of drones during a course of one game.  Maybe a cool down of 45s? But im still ok with it being 30.  As annoying as that drone is, you rarely see any top vanquishing snipers. 

  • Drone is the only real issue I have, although the new abilities to get to high ground kinda get to me as well.

    The thing that's always got to me is that destroying the drone does nothing to the actual player. They're in no actual danger because they can be on the opposite end of the map at spawn which is out of bounds and can't be attacked, essentially giving them the ability to kill with no way for retribution. They have two lives... one of which doesn't count towards dying, but adds to their kills.

    1.) No drones from out of bounds.

    2.) Limit their controllable range to a smaller radius around them... in other words, no controlling drones across a map.

    This is an emotive one for me as Deadbeard is my "go to". I nearly always get Vanquish Master with him however dont often die to him (even as Nightcap) so i like to think it is my skill at play!

    I begrudgingly agree his drone is too strong, I get about 5 kills with it each time with low (but not zero) risk. Cactus drone is weak by comparison.

    As always popcap need to examine the data. If Deadbeard is getting too many kills overall he will be nerfed. If so, I will be sad as I like to think I found my niche 😔

  • Drone...yes. And only two charge shots with 65dps max. Increase primary on both so they can fight when it happens.

    @34975634954957 well you can't get vanquish master alone with the drones. You get the great majority of your kills off of sniping, which takes a high level of skills to do. Of course the no-risk nature of the drones helps but what im saying is if it was easy to get a lot of kills with him , then you would see way more people doing it (which you don't) . Nerfing his drone would make even less people want to use him (which hardly anyone uses him anyways, from my experience).

    If anything, nerf his cool down time only slightly.

    Oh and maybe buff the garlic drone damage since it seems significantly inferior to the parrot
  • @Anini23 Yes, lets make snipers even worse because they're obviously the best characters in the game. It's not like there are characters like all star or foot soldier who can basically do their job with lower risk and a similar reward.
  • Honestly, I think the Snipers are perfect where they are at. I never use snipers and when I do, hitting a fully charged shot is extremely slim. Like another person said, the high risk, high reward of learning and excelling as a Sniper, there should be a noticeable benefit to it. Limiting the space either the bird or garlic can fly (a certain distance from your character) would help out a lot since you can put your character in a corner on one end of the map and fly around the entire map with no consequence or lose of life. 

    Why not have the player respawn close to the location of the shot down bird/garlic drone? Or take some damage for getting shot down? Adding more cool down time will do nothing except make players camp the amount of time added and using the drones the same amount anyway. The Garlic Drone feels substantially underpowered over Deadbeards Bird. Maybe its just me but I've been killed a whole lot more from the bird versus the garlic. 

    The closeup weapons of both characters are extremely weak and will lose 9 times out of 10 against anyone. So keeping the sniper damage high will encourage players to get better and hit more precise shots at long range, which is what they created to do.
