Balance MEGATHREAD

During the heyday of GW1, I posted and maintained a balance Megathread that combined player opinion from both the reddit forums and this page into one concise post. Once a day I'd check back in and update the list based on user responses. This provides an easy way for Popcap to see the list of changes the community is talking about without having to file through page after page of posts. I'll take all responses into account.

As this usually goes, I'll list each class, the issues we have with that class in PVP, and any other changes the community discusses.

Entries marked with * are either mandatory or very important to get in as soon as possible. If you can clarify on any of the more fuzzy entries, that'd be appreciated.

General:

* Server hit registration issues need to be fixed.

* Client/server interactions need to be fixed (ever notice how often Imps can throw their grav grenades AFTER being CC'd?)

- There's a known bug where one of the golden gnomes goes missing and can't be collected to finish the gnome collection.

- Music frequently cuts out during Ops.

- There is still no autobalance or team balancing system in general. A fourth or more of matches are still steamrolls irregardless of individual skill levels.

* Balance changes need to not cause massive "swings" in team power and instead should focus on improving underperforming characters and reducing the effectiveness of overperforming characters.

Plants:

Peashooter:

- Haven't heard much about peashooter yet. Commando Pea may be slightly underpowered still from what I've heard. Any thoughts?

Citron:

- Abilities take too long to become available after leaving ball form.

- Peel shield slightly too weak.

- Laser may not fire long enough.

Corn:

- Ranged damage buff may need to be removed from BBQ corn to keep the variant in line with the others.

Cactus:

- Camo Cactus still requires a buff from the previous game.

- Zen cactus was slightly overnerfed and probably needs something to compensate.

- Buff the plant drones if the parrot drone is to remain where it is.

Sunflower:

- Haven't heard much yet.

Chomper:

* Revert stock goop nerf, or reduce time to 6 seconds if it really is "that bad".

- Either increase health OR increase bite damage OR increase digestion speed to give Chomper an edge on Super and Scientist. Not all three, we don't want Chomper to be better than the two zombie short range classes, only just as good.

- Chomp Cannon needs a buff if we're intended to use it as the "ranged goop".

- Chomp Thing is still underpowered and needs a bit of a boost.

Rose:

- Slightly increase move speed during charge attacks, or slightly buff elemental variant damage by 1 point.

Zombies:

Soldier:

* Soldier lacks a defined role in GW2, partially due to Corn's buffs, but also due to his ranged damage nerf. Either increase health to match Corn, increase movement speed to make him more mobile than Corn, or most likely, increase accuracy of primary weapons.

Scientist:

* Scientists are too powerful in the current meta and need to be toned back, the short ranged variants (Chemist, Marine Bio, Zoologist) are netting way to many free and easy kills due to damage output. Give them the the same cooldown nerf the Unicorn Chomper got on the Rainbow Warp to make attack/retreat options less frequent. Straight nerfs to the weapons may not be necessary given this, but should be on the table.

All-Star:

- Haven't heard a thing about All-Star. Thoughts?

Engineer:

- Slight buff to underpowered variants, slight firing speed reduction to AC Perry.

Super Brainz:

* Nerf the chain damage of Electro Brainz. 15 damage spread is far too powerful. If Electro Brainz was meant to be a more ranged fighter, give the beam longer time before overheating after nerfing spread damage to 3-5.

- Continue to consider balance options for Twister.

Cpt. Deadbeard:

- Captain Sharkbite is slightly overwhelming the other Deadbeard variants and may need to be toned down in damage.

- Parrot is a little bit stronger than the Garlic drone. Perhaps increase time it takes egg bombs to detonate to even out the two drones.

Imp:

- Nerf the duration or cooldown of the gravity grenade, or at least fix the server issues so they can't throw it while CC'd. The gravity grenade nets too many free kills.

- In exchange for the above nerf, increase impkata damage slightly.

PvE/Other:

* Nerf Super Bean.
