Buried Treasure card doesn't allow Fusion as advertised

Buried Treasure is a new card in the Triassic set. It says, "Fusion: Conjure a Legendary card, and it costs 1 less."

Fusion is tooltip-defined as "Play a Zombie on this to use this ability."

The problem is that it will not allow me to play certain zombies on this item. My current hypothesis is that it's only allowing me to play Pirate class zombies on it, but that's difficult to test (playing game after game trying to get certain cards to come up at the same time).

And there's nothing in the update's Announcements section on Fusion that would suggest that Fusion cards only allow their own classes to be played on one another.

I've successfully used Fusion with cards other than Buried Treasure—at least in limited play of Triassic so far. Anyone else having this issue?

  • you can't play a gravestone zombie on a fusion card? that may explain it?

I've only tried it on Swabbies so far. (Good for a turn 1 guaranteed legendary)

  • Great thought! I don’t believe this is the case, but I’ll monitor for that as I play more. It’s my recollection that it was a non-gravestone zombie outside of Pirate class that wouldn’t play on Buried Treasure on multiple attempts.

I think that jay is right. I played Quasar on buried treasure, and got a legendary and a supertrick lol.
Another one I tried for curiousness was Duckstache on the monument, and it works for evolution and fusion, unfortunately the fusion happens first, so he only does a bonus attack for 2 instead of 4 which is how he ends up(4/4)
  • ^ same for Zomblob, it doesn't attack with the buffed number... pretty sure that's not the way it's supposed to work

  • I have now been able to successfully play a non-Pirate zombie on a Buried Treasure. However, I confirmed that a card containing a zombie in a gravestone CANNOT. I think I must have tried one of the new Triassic cards and didn’t realize that it was a gravestone. For the moment, I’ll mark this as the answer.
