As of right now on PC you cannot permanently disable voice chat. You can only Toggle Mute on players in the match and for every new player that joins with a mic you have to press the Toggle Mute All again if you wish to do so.
If you have a mic yourself, you cannot disable your mic in game. The only ways this would work is if you had a USB mic or a mic that you could turn off / mute yourself or if you did the following :
Go to the right side if your windows task bar. Right click your sound icon and click on Recording Devices. Click on one of the devices that is not used if you have any, then press Set Default. If you wish to use Skype or any other voice program after doing this, just go to their options and select your mic to make it work with those applications.
If you ever wish to go back to the way it was, use the same steps above but click on your mic you want to use, then click Set Default.

Nope. We have to hear this **bleep** until it gets enough complaints

We need:
- Push to Talk settings
- Adjust Voice volumn settings

Or what i do every time i play, click on "Toggle Mute All"
toggle mute all becomes a huge annoyance. 1 new person joining causes you to have to do the same. Then you do it again in the lobby. We have to hear high pitched noises when loading before EVERY game. There are far better solutions to this.
1. Push-to-talk
2. allow permanent muting so you don't have to do it every round
3. volume adjustment for incoming and outgoing
push-to-talk will solve a lot of pain to the ears. The next step would be a volume adjuster so we can silence those very sensitive mics. Last step would be to allow players to adjust their own mic, hearing themselves so they can adjust it because people don't know how much background noise they pick up until they can hear it for themselves

I agree with you mate. But it's alot better then listen to everyone.
hopefully, EA released a new patch that fixes this.
- Anonymous12 years agoThis is without doubt the dumbest and most annoying "feature" of the game!! EA-please, please fix this and add a control to turn it off! I do not want to have to listen to the world and have the world listen to me with no control over it.
This is so annoying. Having the option to mute my own microphone or a button for push to talk should be always available. I dont want everyone to listen to what i am saying while i am talking over skype or whatsoever with friends. They really need to change that.
