Character balance, etc

I’d like to say I have been a fan of the pvz series since original game on pc before smart devices and ea bought popcap, spent many hours playing gw1 and gw2.

Been playing bfn founders edition daily since release and thought I’d share how the characters feel to me.

Pve: I have a mate whose wife and kids liked to play gw1 & 2 casual fun and they are finding the pve in bfn difficult solo, I think maybe pve zones could have a easy and normal setting, maybe normal setting earns more coins or something.

Charaters
Peashooter: I don’t play this one much but little I have played I think he is in a ok spot, except his pea suped skill, it feels slow and horrible compared to gw2 even with the bonus hover.

Chomper: my favourite class in gw2, took me little while to get a feel for his new set up, I’m not sure if it's server lagg or what but I seem to have trouble getting his burrow to work when I see red targeting on enemies.

Kernal corn: main attack needs buffing, does less damage then fire corn did in gw2 and he had after burn.

Night cap: fung fu needs nerfing, little less damage and shouldn’t be able to move while doing it, also I’ve had her fung fu out of imps gravity ball, she shouldn’t be able to do things like that.

Snapdragon: I feel he dies to fast for a close range fighter, maybe buff his default attack just slightly and swap out the blue blazes skill for a aoe skill like spinning around blowing flame and have the ability to upgrade that skill to heal you aswell like super brains aoe.

Cactus: I don’t play her much but she seems to be in a ok spot except her and pirate zombies should kill most chars except tanks with one fully charged headshot, so like 175 damage full charge headshot maybe.

Citron: aiming with him is even more difficult then most chars seen as you can’t zoom at all, and his default attack seems a little weak.

Acorn: seems to be in ok spot at the moment.

Sunflower: compared to scientist she needs a attack buff it’s pretty much useless, and her healing either needs a nerf or scientist healing needs a buff.

Rose: her damage needs slight buff, maybe attack speed, and speed aura is pretty much useless just like engineers double time, would be so much better if they both got manually placing enter and exit teleports, (yes just like tf2) be so much better and bring new tactic to game play.

Foot soldier: default attack needs a buff.

Imp: default attack needs a buff.

Super brainz: he is in ok spot, might need to be able to take a little more damage being a close up fighter.

80’s action hero: needs buffing allround.

Electric slide: maybe a slight dps buff for her default attack and disco tornado, would be nice if she moved faster then average being on skates and her default attack could be auto instead semi auto.

Captain deadbeard: same as cactus fully charged headshot should do like 175 damage. Also parrot and garlic drone feel so painfully slow to move compared to gw2.

Allstar: default attack needs a buff.

Space cadet: maybe slight dps buff, he seems ok atm.

Scientist: as I said with sunflower either buff his healing or nerf sunflowers healing and buff sunflowers dps.

Engineer: seems ok atm, except double time is meh, needs to be replaced with tele porters as I said in rose’s.

And the aiming in the game seems so much harder then gw2, not sure why.

Doubt any popcap staff will read and consider my ideas but no harm in trying to give my feedback.
Thanks

@FlameSkrrFox That's because the game's growing up a little bit. Knowing when to stand and fight and when to run is another layer of strategy. Not a problem.

Also, it did happen in GW1 & 2. It's just that only certain characters had run abilities. So, it happened less.

You can run too now. Chase them...
  • @FarQM8 Also, if you missed it, the devs did a stream earlier on some of the balances coming in October. I think they addressed some, but not all of your issues. Here's a link to YouTube video of a guy recapping what they mentioned. He does about 3 videos a day.

True can be annoying, but if all these chars that need buffing get buffed then there is more chance you can kill em before they run or shoot them in the back dead.

  • @FarQM8 I'm a huge night cap fan,so i can tell the super brain is too op now.No other character can one-shot a 75hp little mushroom with only the default attack (with charge).
I mean if you one-shot me with a skill,it's more fair enough, but default attack,it's not acceptable.

@Douyu7445685-CWI mean, I agree that Super Brains probably needs a nerf. Probably should of nerfed him along side Nightcap. Or maybe damage nerfs to his fists while buffing his HP for compensation

Well we already know night cap is being nerfed as for super brainz I'm not sure, one on one up close yes he is strong his charge shot is good to get them as the try to run, but more then often when he leaps into a close range fight he has to face multiply enemies and usually dies. With other charaters getting buffed and more to come I'd leave him as he is for now and see.
