Character Challenge Tips - Summer Dayz Festival! (August 2020)
Hi everyone,
I have now made weekly character challenge tips for every character possible, over the last 5 months. I have enjoyed making them, because I really like helping players with completing activities, challenges, or trying to make their Neighborville experience easier. But now that we are back to the first cycle of challenges, there is not much point in making new threads again with similar challenges.
So instead, I have a different idea. Instead, once a month, I will make a new topic, and each week I will add a character that I will be discussing their character challenges and providing tips for them as normal, but with less information than I used to, this way I will clutter the forum less this way and you can see a wave of character challenge tips in one thread, rather than me making multiple new threads for each new character. What I will do is provide a link to my older thread of each character challenges as well, in case you want more detailed information. Back then, I used to add tons of information.
Now, I do suggest not responding in this thread, because it may be a bit harder to find a specific set of character challenges with other responses, however if you would like to do so, you can. Just my suggestion.
Let me know if you have anything you want to say on this. By the way, I will be posting Peashooter's character challenges quite soon.
@TheSprinter85 Thank you for all of these amazing challenge guides / tips 🙌👍. I was waiting for you to finish the series before I replied 😇. While your tips help a lot, I have to say that even I as a seasoned player sometimes face problems with the character challenges. The translations are off way too often and I don't know what I am supposed to do most of the time. They fixed some translation issues last month, but only a day before the prize map ended and I had to grind for hours to be able to get the universal hat just because PopCap did a bad job at translating their game.
Before I start each character's challenges individually, these are the general things you need to know about my character challenge guides:
If there is a # next to a character challenge, it means that upgrades such as Refreshing Revive, Critical Blow and Combo (if the character has access to it), are useful upgrades to use because they refresh your abilities faster, meaning you are able to use these abilities more often.
I will no longer cover each character's 5000 XP challenge tips. However, I have listed some general Levelling Up tips below if you need help with the Levelling Up - but it is most likely that you will get this challenge anyway before completing the others so there should be no problem.
The character challenges for this month are for Peashooter, Citron, 80s Action Hero and Scientist.
I use the respective character's pages on the PvZ Wiki to gather my information, for upgrade names and stats.
Levelling Up Tips
As these tips are generalised, I will mention them here. Each character needs 5,000 XP to get this challenge.
If you would like to level up faster, use the Levelling Up upgrade to receive 10% more XP from all actions that would award more than 5 XP. This extra XP does apply even if your character is Grandmaster 5, giving you a use for this upgrade at max level.
Playing PvP or 2-3 successful and full games of Ops or Skirmishes in the free-roam regions should be enough to give you your required XP for this challenge.
Vanquishing, assists, revives, healing and anything other opportunity you get that can give you XP, try and take it. Placing pots, bots and summonables can also be useful, as you get XP when you summon them, and if they heal allies or vanquish enemies.
You should earn this challenge before you get the rest of them, so do not be too concerned about it.
These are my character challenge tips for Peashooter. These are my personal tips and I do not use other sources of information for these challenges.
Peashooter's character challenges are as follows:
Earn 5,000 XP as Peashooter.
Score 100 Direct Hits with Pea Cannon.
Get 15 Hero Vanquishes with Chili Bean Bomb. #
Get 25 Vanquishes with Pea Gatling. #
Deal 2,000 Damage while Pea Suped is active. #
Now, remember that I will not cover the 5,000 XP challenge, look on the second post of this thread for more information. For upgrades names and stats, I use this page on the wiki to assist me: https://plantsvszombies.fandom.com/wiki/Peashooter_(PvZ:_BfN)
For this challenge, you need to land 100 or more successful hits with your Pea Cannon. If you do not deal direct damage (for instance, splash damage) or use another ability, you will not gain points towards the challenge. However, you do not need to inflict specific amounts of damage or get vanquishes.
General Tips
Grouped enemies are useful to do this challenge, as you are more likely to inflict direct hits.
Aim before you fire to improve your chances of landing direct hits.
It is useful to perform this challenge against bosses as they are really easy to hit and you can land lots of direct hits.
Try and get close to enemies when you do this challenge as you are less likely to miss.
Use Pea Suped to fire faster and land more direct hits.
Upgrades
Homing Pea (3 upgrade points). Your Peas that you fire gain homing on enemies you target, meaning you are more likely to land direct hits with the peas.
Get 15 Hero Vanquishes with Chili Bean Bomb. #
For this challenge, you need to vanquish 15 or more hero enemies with the Chili Bean Bomb only. You cannot vanquish bosses, summonables or bots with this ability, only heroes. However, Robo-Zombies in the free-roam regions count for this quest.
General Tips
Grouped enemies are very useful because you may be able to vanquish multiple enemies at a time.
Use your Chili Bean Bomb in areas where enemies tend to cluster or when they are distracted.
Try not to use it against heroes with higher than 125 health, unless they are weakened, or you will probably not vanquish them.
Getting behind your enemies before you activate your Chili Bean Bomb can yield great results.
You can push your Chili Bean Bomb towards your enemies, if it needs a push in the right direction.
Upgrades
Pro Spitter (1 upgrade point). Your Chili Bean Bomb gets thrown further, good for trying to vanquish enemies from further distances.
Bean Party (3 upgrade points). Your Chili Bean Bomb refreshes faster when you get a vanquish with it, meaning you can use it more often.
Feed the Beast (4 upgrade points). When you are using your Pea Suped and you deal damage, your abilities, including Chili Bean Bomb, refreshes faster.
Get 25 Vanquishes with Pea Gatling. #
For this challenge, you need to vanquish a total of 25 or more enemies using your Pea Gatling. This ability deals really high damage to enemies, but in return you are immobile, so be cautious where you use it. It does not matter which enemy you vanquish with this ability.
General Tips
Get to a high vantage point and use Pea Gatling from there to make it easier to land hits on enemies using Pea Gatling.
Focus on targets with less health first, you are more likely to get vanquishes this way. Grouped enemies are useful as well.
Jumping up high, activating Pea Gatling, and shooting as soon as you hit the ground means you have the early advantage.
Try using your Pea Gatling against unaware enemies or slower targets.
Aim for critical hits whenever possible.
Upgrades
Reload Gatling (2 upgrade points). You gain more ammo for Pea Gatling when you continually inflict critical damage, meaning you can keep using the ability for extended periods of time when dealing critical damage, and you will deal lots more damage this way.
Explosive Gatling (3 upgrade points). Enemies explode when vanquished by Pea Gatling, meaning you can vanquish and weaken multiple enemies this way. If you vanquish another Zombie with a Zombie exploding, this counts as a Pea Gatling vanquish.
Feed the Beast (4 upgrade points). When you are using your Pea Suped and you deal damage, your abilities, including Pea Gatling, refresh faster.
Party Time (5 upgrade points). When you get a vanquish streak, you deal 20% more damage for a short time. Use this Party Time to go into Pea Gatling, as the extra damage works here.
Deal 2,000 Damage while Pea Suped is Active. #
For this challenge, while you are using your Pea Suped ability, you need to deal 2,000 or more total damage. You do not need vanquish or certain amounts of hits upon enemies, nor does it matter what enemies you deal damage to, but you need to do that much damage. This should be relatively easy as you move and shoot faster while this ability is active
General Tips
Groups of enemies are great towards this challenge because you can deal splash damage to most of your enemies, so lookout for closely clustered enemies.
Bosses and other enemies with high health are useful because you can deal tons of damage to them using one Pea Suped.
Use your Chili Bean Bomb while Pea Suped is active (preferably near the start of the ability) to deal heaps of damage, especially against clustered enemies.
Jump frequently (and hover if you want) while shooting to deal damage to enemies from above and make yourself harder to hit.
Do not use Pea Gatling while you are doing this as it will cancel the ability, but Chili Bean Bomb works fine. Try to activate this ability while no enemies are watching.
Upgrades
Combat Adrenaline (3 upgrade points). Your Pea Suped's duration is increased when you get a vanquish during Pea Suped, meaning you can deal damage in Pea Suped for extended periods of time this way.
Homing Pea (3 upgrade points). This makes it easier to deal direct damage to enemies during Pea Suped, essentially inflicting more damage.
Last Ditch (2 upgrade points). With the last pea in your Pea Cannon, you deal lots more damage, in Pea Suped, if you have one ammo exactly during the course of this ability, you can deal even more damage during this ability.
These are Peashooter's character challenges, I would say the challenges are not too difficult but could take some time and patience, especially the Chili Bean Bomb one. I would consider the overall difficulty of these challenges to be normal.
Consider what upgrades you use before you start these challenges for best results.
These following tips are my character challenge tips specifically for Citron. These are my personal tips and I do not use other sources of information for these challenges.
Citron's character challenges are as follows:
Earn 5,000 XP as Citron.
Block 3,500 Damage with Peel Shield.
E.M. Peach your Enemies 25 Times. #
Land 50 Hits with Spin Dash. #
Deal 2,000 Damage with Navel Laser. #
I will not be covering the 5,000 XP challenge, look at the second post of this thread for further information on it. I used this page on the Wiki to assist me with upgrade names and stats: https://plantsvszombies.fandom.com/wiki/Citron_(PvZ:_BfN)
For this challenge, you need to block a total of 3,500 damage using your Peel Shield. Your shield has a lot of health and is large so can be hit easily, so it should not take long. However, the shield takes a while to fully regenerate. You do not need to block the damage all in one go. Well, actually you simply cannot.
General Tips
Try to get into a corner or with your back against a wall so your enemies cannot damage you directly very easily, only your shield.
When an enemy is using an ability that deals high damage, use your shield as it could take a lot of damage for your challenge.
When a high-damaging attack or ability is coming at you, such as ZPG, quickly use your shield to block it.
Try using your shield when you have no ammo as a means of reloading - it gives you the opportunity to use your shield.
You can use your shield when there are many enemies present. As you cannot counterattack with the shield, get allies to help with cover fire or revive allies while you shield.
Upgrades
Quenching Cover (2 upgrade points). When you successfully gain ammo by blocking damage, you gain extra ammo, good for using your shield as a way to reload ammo.
Kinetic Energy (3 upgrade points). Your Peel Shield gains health when you deal damage, great for more damage blocking, attack when your shield health gets low and reload your shield in no time.
Peel Out (3 upgrade points). You move faster while you are shielding. This can be good for getting away from fights, all the while blocking that juicy damage.
Peachy (4 upgrade points). Any enemy you stun using E.M. Peach will give you a significant amount of health for Peel Shield, you can block more damage and faster this way.
E.M. Peach your Enemies 25 Times. #
For this challenge, you need to stun a total of 25 enemies or more, using your E.M. Peach ability. You do not need to deal damage or get vanquishes, and this ability deals splash damage. For this reason, trying to hit your enemies should not be difficult, but try to predict where your enemy will be as this has a delay before the ability resolves.
General Tips
Aim for groups of enemies if you get the opportunity.
Stun enemies that are at close range so you are less likely to miss.
Try and stun enemies when they are unaware, such as when you are behind them.
Stun larger enemies if you are able, such as Space Stations and Z-Mechs, you can annoy your Z-Mech "friends" and they are easier to hit.
Try throwing your E.M. Peach directly above you, near an area where Zombies seem to reside, and see if it comes back to Earth and hits someone.
Upgrades
There are no upgrades that directly benefit completing this challenge, but you could use this upgrades for extra effects when you land your stuns:
Peached for 3 points. Enemies you directly hit with E.M. Peach will be stunned for longer.
Land 50 Hits with Spin Dash. #
For this challenge, you need to land hits on 50 or more enemies with Spin Dash, no specific amounts of damage or vanquishes are required. Clustered enemies or enemies in a line are good to target, as this ability can damage multiple enemies and can pierce. Enemies with less mobility are also useful to target as you are more likely to hit them.
General Tips
Target enemies that are in a line as Spin Dash pierces.
Larger enemies, such as bosses, are better to target because they are easier to hit.
Use the delay of Spin Dash to change direction, if you feel it is necessary.
Stun your enemies before you Spin Dash to make them easier to hit.
Get as close as you can to enemies before you Spin Dash, you can use your shield to approach them.
Upgrades
There are no upgrades that directly benefit completing this challenge, but you could use these upgrades for extra effects when you Spin Dash:
Emergency Exit for 1 point. You move faster for a few seconds after resolving Spin Dash.
Bowling for 4 points. Knock enemies further away when they are hit by your Spin Dash.
Deal 2,000 Damage with Navel Laser. #
For this challenge, you need to deal a total of 2,000 or more damage just using your Navel Laser. No vanquishes needed, but you cannot use your other attacks or abilities to deal the damage or it will not count. Large enemies and enemies with more health, such as bosses, are really good to target, because you can deal damage easier this way.
General Tips
Activate Navel Laser behind cover and come out and damage your enemies when it is dealing maximum damage.
Move around as much as you can during the ability to make yourself a bit harder to hit.
Use it at long-range to make yourself less likely to be vanquished during the ability, or at close-range to make it easier to hit your enemies.
Stun enemies before you activate this ability, so they cannot counterattack you for a bit while you charge your laser!
Try to have a height advantage when you use this ability so they cannot get away from you as easily.
Upgrades
Juiced (3 upgrade points). Your Navel Laser now has a larger width and will always deal critical damage. Excellent for increasing your damage output with it and making it easier for you to hit enemies.
Pulp Powered (4 upgrade points). When you vanquish an enemy using your Navel Laser, your Navel Laser duration is increased, meaning you can continuously fire and deal so much damage this way.
Well, these are Citron's challenges, they are in no way difficult but could potentially take some time. To try and save time, try to work on several of the challenges at once, as most of them require the use of your abilities and need to recharge once you have used them. I would consider the overall difficulty of these challenges to be easy.
Consider what upgrades you use before you start these challenges for best results.
These following tips are my character challenge tips that have been designed for 80s Action Hero. These are my personal tips and I do not use other sources of information for these challenges.
80s Action Hero's challenges are as follows:
Earn 5,000 XP as 80s Action Hero.
Land 250 Hits with your Bow Blaster.
Deal 500 Damage using Dynamite Dodge. #
Vanquish Multiple Enemies with one Rocket Ride 20 Times. #
Land 20 Hits with Can't Miss-ile! #
Remember, I am not going to be covering the 5,000 XP challenge, but if you would assistance with that challenge, check the second post of this thread for a few quick and basic tips to assist you with that. I used this page on the Wiki to help me with upgrades names and stats: https://plantsvszombies.fandom.com/wiki/80s_Action_Hero
For this challenge, you need to deal damage to enemies a total of 250 times or more using your Bow Blaster primary weapon. It does not matter how much damage you do, how much your charge up your shots or if you get vanquishes.
General Tips
Frequently shoot without charging up to land your Bow Blaster hits faster.
If you do not charge up your shots, try and hit enemies using the corner of your Bow Blaster so they get hit by your end shots and take really minor damage. More hits that way.
It is good to focus on shooting larger enemies, or enemies with larger health pools, to land more shots on.
If there are no enemies nearby, charge up your Bow Blaster and see if you can deal splash damage with your fully charged shots.
Against multiple enemies, jump around and frequently shoot in their direction. Easy hits most likely.
Upgrades
Bow Master (2 upgrade points). When you get a vanquish, for a short time, you can charge up your Bow Blaster very quickly, great for charging up some quick powerful shots.
Deal 500 Damage using Dynamite Dodge. #
For this challenge, you need to deal 500 damage or more to your enemies using your Dynamite Dodge. This ability is mainly used as an escape or mobility tool, but it can deal upwards of 70 damage to enemies that are too close to the Dynamite that you release. For this reason, you want to get close to enemies when you use this. This ability has a short cooldown. You do not need vanquishes for this challenge.
General Tips
Try and run into a group of enemies, then use your Dynamite Dodge.
Use this ability against enemies that are unaware of your presence.
If you are in a battle with a close-range opponent, use your Dynamite Dodge to get away, they may get hit by it.
If an opponent is immobile for some reason, target them by using your Dynamite Dodge against.
Try and get to high vantage point, like above an objective and jump off. While you are falling, activate Dynamite Dodge for an air strike. This requires some good timing.
Upgrades
Leg Day (1 upgrade point). You get an improved jump height and distance when you use Dynamite Dodge, giving you some more capabilities with the ability. Just note that it is not a particularly significant difference.
Vanquish Multiple Enemies with one Rocket Ride 20 Times. #
For this challenge, you need to vanquish 2 or more enemies with a single use of Rocket Ride 20 or more times. This ability deals minor splash damage, and a lot of direct damage, so aiming for direct hits are your best bet, and focusing on lower health enemies and grouped enemies are a good way to get this challenge. Weakening enemies as required may be a good idea before you use Rocket Ride as a finisher.
General Tips
Target enemies in groups, it is easier to vanquish 2 or more. You cannot get multiple vanquishes on single enemies, can you?
Enemies that have low health are useful to target.
Weaken enemies as required with your Bow Blaster or other abilities before you attempt to Rocket Ride.
When you attempt to use Rocket Ride, try and do so to surprise your enemies and reduce their chances of being able to react.
Be careful exactly where you use it. You cannot shoot directly beneath yourself and can only do splash damage. Be mindful of that. Also, try and get close to enemies when you use it so you are less likely to miss.
Upgrades
Free Ride (2 upgrade points). Vanquishing an enemy with your Rocket Ride slightly extends your duration, meaning you can have longer to vanquish multiple enemies. The extension is only about 1 extra second per vanquish, so be mindful of that.
Land 20 Hits with Can't Miss-ile! #
For this challenge, you need to damage enemies using your Can't Missile 20 Times. Note that hitting enemies with multiple rockets at once does not count towards this challenge, so you want to aim for hitting them with at least one. You get tags on enemies by hitting enemies with your Bow Blaster, or using certain upgrades to do so. You do not need vanquishes.
General Tips
Tag your enemies, preferably fully, before you attempt to use Can't Missile upon them.
If there are healers, take them out before you attempt this challenge, or target them with this challenge instead, as enemies' tags are removed when healed.
Try and focus on enemies out in the open, when you Can't Missile them, they are not likely to survive it if you fully tag them.
Shoot at the same opponent rapidly rather than charging up your Bow Blaster for quicker tags.
If there are no enemies nearby, charge up your Bow Blaster, then if one appears, shoot them, then shoot them with quick shots a couple more times, then Can't Missile for game!
Upgrades
Improved Tracking (1 upgrade point). When you deal damage to an enemy using Can't Missile, it gives them another tag, meaning you can repeat and hit the enemy again, once your ability has recharged of course.
Track Star (2 upgrade points). Dealing damage with Dynamite Dodge gives you a tag, meaning it is easier to hit your enemies with Can't Missile afterwards.
Targeting Arrows (2 upgrade points). Normally, when you are vanquished or when the enemy is, you lose the tags on that enemy. With this upgrade, even if YOU are vanquished, the tags you have put on enemies remain, meaning that being vanquished does not matter. Hopefully, you will get revived too.
Remarkable Rockets (3 upgrade points). Dealing damage with Rocket Ride, direct or splash, gives the enemies you damage tags, great for getting tags on enemies quickly.
Critical Tag (3 upgrade points). Dealing critical damage using your Bow Blaster, even if not charged up, gives your enemies all 3 tags instantly, which means you can quickly Can't Missile them afterwards.
Super Payload (4 upgrade points). You fire extra rockets with Can't Missile, meaning you are more likely to hit your enemy once or more.
The Huntsman (5 upgrade points). Dealing damage with a fully charged shot, direct or splash, gives your enemies all 3 tags instantly, which means you can also quickly Can't Missile them afterwards.
Well, these are 80s Action Hero's character challenges, they are not particularly difficult, although the Rocket Ride one could take some work. Make sure to use your abilities frequently as they recharge quickly, but be cautious of when you use Rocket Ride so that you hopefully do not waste it. I would consider the overall difficulty of these challenges to be medium.
Consider what upgrades you use before you start these challenges for best results.
The following tips here are my personal character challenge tips that have been created for Scientist. These are my personal tips and I do not use other information sources for these challenges.
Scientist's character challenges are as follows:
Earn 5,000 XP as Scientist.
Deal 3,000 Damage with your Primary Weapon.
Heal 1,000 Health for Allies with Healing Hose.
Revive 15 Allies.
Vanquish 10 Heroes after Using Warp. #
As normal, I am not going to cover the 5,000 XP challenge, but if you wish to have assistance with the challenge, check the second post of this thread to get an idea on how to get this XP more quickly. I used this page on the Wiki to assist me with upgrade names and stats: https://plantsvszombies.fandom.com/wiki/Scientist_(PvZ:_BfN)
Because Scientist has a legendary upgrade (Steam Blaster), for each challenge, I will also mention whether it is worth using the upgrade or not, in my opinion. If you have it. This will apply for specific challenges only, some will not matter if you have this equipped or not.
My challenge tips for Scientist are as follows:
Deal 3,000 Damage with your Primary Weapon.
For this challenge, you need to use your Primary Weapon that you are using to deal a total of 3,000 damage or more to your enemies. You do not need vanquishes or a certain amount of hits for this challenge to count. That is all, no extra requirements need to be met.
Should You Use Steam Blaster for this challenge?
Yes. Steam Blaster deals higher amounts of damage than your regular Goo Blaster and can deal damage to multiple plants at once, at the expense of rate and fire and ammo. Now while this weapon is restricted to close-range, once you start dealing damage with it, you should rack up points for the challenge quickly. However, it depends on how you would prefer to complete this challenge.
General Tips
Aim before firing to increase your chances of hitting an enemy.
Try and target enemies with larger hitboxes or with more health so you can deal more damage to the enemies.
Critical hits are great to aim for as you deal more damage. Aim for the head.
Try and get to a safer location before you attempt to deal damage to enemies so they have less time to react.
If you use Steam Blaster, try and get close to groups of enemies and constantly fire in their general direction, moving constantly. Warp regularly if needed. Try to spray Steam Blaster into objectives.
Upgrades
Precision (4 upgrade points). Your Goo Blaster has less spread when you aim the weapon first, meaning you can more easily deal damage with the weapon at long range.
Dolphin Blasting (4 upgrade points). When you get a vanquish with Goo Blaster (there is no other way), your Goo Blaster fires faster for a short time, meaning you can deal more rapid damage with it for a short time.
Combat Aura (4 upgrade points). When you get a vanquish streak of 3 without being vanquished, you deal 20% more damage (with your Goo Blaster) for 7 seconds, which other allies can also benefit from this increased damage as well, if they are close to you.
I assume that you do not use the Steam Blaster upgrade when choosing these upgrades.
Heal 1,000 Health for Allies with the Healing Hose.
You can use this ability at any time, so refresh upgrades will not be needed for this challenge. For this challenge, you need to heal your allies for a total of 1,000 health. Overhealing does count for this challenge. You can heal multiple Zombies at a time, yourself not included, so it should not take long to get this challenge, but you cannot attack while you heal, so you are vulnerable to attacks. Try and stay near the backlines while doing this challenge and warp around or away if you feel that you need to.
Should You Use Steam Blaster for this challenge?
No. There are other upgrades that will assist with healing, which you cannot use if you run that upgrade.
General Tips
Heal clusters of teammates at once for best results, your Healing Hose has infinite pierce.
Overheal allies whenever you can, like before the start of a match.
Heal allies with more health first, you can gain more healing this way.
Focus on healing critically damaged allies, Warp to them if needed, you can get a lot of healing by simply doing this.
Overheal allies that you revive.
Upgrades
Power Wash (3 upgrade points). When you aim your Healing Hose, the healing it provides and the range of it (in every direction except backwards) is significantly improve, not massively, but significantly. This means you can heal players faster and more easily.
CPR (3 upgrade points). Allies with critical health will be healed significantly faster until they are no longer critically injured, providing quick bursts of healing for you if you get the chance.
Reflexive (3 upgrade points). When you are healing an ally or multiple allies, you gain about 10 health per second, meaning you improve your survivability significantly when you are healing.
Revive 15 Allies.
For this challenge, you need to revive 15 allies or more in any game mode. PvP, Private Play and Battle Chests count for this. Scientist has a passive faster revive speed, and revives allies to full health instead of half, so this should not be hard to do. This does not take the use of an ability either. When you revive an ally, you are fairly vulnerable, so move around as much as you can during the revive to reduce your chances of being hit.
Should You Use Steam Blaster for this challenge?
It does not matter.
General Tips
Move around when you are reviving.
Activate your Sticky Healy Thingy just before you begin the revive to heal yourself during the revive.
Use terrain cover and other allies as cover.
Warp to fallen allies to get there faster.
Try and chip in to currently occurring revives to get shared revives.
Upgrades
Super Savior (1 upgrade point). You can jump and use your abilities while reviving as if you were not reviving (as much as you like). Just remember to stay in the circle. You can jump and use your abilities to your advantage as you revive to heal yourself, allies and reduce your chances of being vanquished. Just do not use Warp as it will take you away from the revive.
Refreshing Revive (1 upgrade point). You get your abilities back faster when you achieve a revive, which benefits you by getting a revive.
Reanimate (2 upgrade points). When you are close enough to your Sticky Healy Thingy while you revive, you revive that ally significantly faster. Reviving is already fast, why not make it faster? Activate it before you begin the revive, or if you have Super Savior, you may do it during the revive instead.
Revive Reward (2 upgrade points). You gain 75 health when you achieve a revive, you can gain overhealth this way, which benefits you by getting a revive.
Vanquish 10 Heroes after Using Warp. #
For this challenge, you need to vanquish 10 or more enemy Heroes after you have used a Warp. You have 3 Warps, so you have multiple attempts to do this. The good thing is you can fire a few shots before your time expires and you would have to use another Warp to try again. Try and focus on doing this challenge against enemies that do not have much health, or that have been weakened beforehand.
Should You Use Steam Blaster for this challenge?
Yes. Generally, you will get close to enemy Heroes when you do this challenge for best results. Using Steam Blaster is effective as the Plants may not be expecting it anyway, and because you are up close, you should be able to utilise the maximum effectiveness of this upgrade. That said, it depends on how you prefer to complete this challenge.
General Tips
Try and do this challenge against low-health enemies.
Try and do this challenge against weakened enemies. Weaken them first as necessary.
Attempt to perform this challenge against enemies that are unaware.
If you fail to defeat an enemy in a couple of shots after your Warp, Warp again and continue to try and vanquish them.
If you use Steam Blaster, you may be able to try and do this against groups of enemies. Try and approach enemies that are unaware of your presence, then Warp in, Steam Blaster until you vanquish. You may want to Warp after you shoot a couple of times to reduce your chances of being vanquished.
Upgrades
Wormhole (3 upgrade points). Your Warps travel further, meaning you can conduct these challenges from a further distance.
Materialize (4 upgrade points). When you Warp, you gain 2 ammo for Goo Blaster, meaning less need for reloading and you get free shots to attempt vanquishes with.
These upgrades assume you do not use the Steam Blaster upgrade!
Well, these are Scientist's character challenges, they are not in any way difficult unless you struggle to do any of those things. However, the Warp to a Hero vanquish might take a bit of time, and a bit of luck may be involved for getting this challenge. Try and take turns in dealing as much damage as possible and healing your team, and you shouldn't have to wait long to get the challenge. I would consider the overall difficulty of these challenges to be easy.
Consider what upgrades you use before you start these challenges for best results.
@benn1nat0r I actually responded to a few posts made on the forum regarding mistranslations, I’m glad I could help but PopCap, what happened?
It’s excellent to know that even you as a max-rank player can learn new stuff from my tips. I don’t find it hard to think of tips. I always consider them in-game as I go and like to consider strategies anyway, sharing them is awesome.
Thanks for waiting until I finished this month’s series - but just note that it would have been fine if you had responded beforehand.
@TheSprinter85Thanks 🙂. I have to say the translations in Bfn aren't good. Even in English some stuff is confusing. They should rename Heros, because everyone new to the game thinks of 80's or Super Brainz when reading this. And everything that isn't well explained is terrible in German.
