I agree the commando pea does need a buff. ether an increased fire rate or giving him 2 -3 splash damage per bullet.
Do you mean section off some of his current damage into splash, or add 2-3 damage that is splash? Becuase splash is actually part of direct damage - stock peashooter actually does 27 per direct hit, it's his ten splash that makes it look like 37. This is why splash characters do less direct damage against things like coffins zombies when they shoot at the eyes.
I personally don't think that would help him too much, but it would certainly be interesting using a splash rapid fire character, so it sounds like an awesome idea even if I don't think it would solve his problems :D
