After a while ops became fairly easy as you knew the routes and could wait for the enemy to come to you yet in boss hunt you don't have time to set up and defend one area with tightly put together defenses who can aid each other.
Some of the reinforcements were also staged as when sasquatch got low health he would call for two gargantuars to back him up and unless you were peashooter, corn, or citron they had to be dealt with as they will run you down quickly.
Seeing all the guides and unique tierlists specifically for hunts would be nice as certain classes always shined in pve more.
Boss Hunts were great and indeed memorable, and as my favourite mode of all time, I eagerly anticipate being able to hopefully play them again! I found them so challenging to defeat, although I was nowhere as skilled at the game back then, so if they return, I'll have a much better chance at being able to beat them in all difficulties, especially now that I've had a lot of practice in Crazy Ops. I've actually watched plenty of YouTube videos of Boss Hunt gameplay, which makes me even more keen to play Boss Hunts. If I do get to play them again, I'll probably have even more fun than I used to and will create guides related to each Boss Hunt for other players.
- 2 years ago@TheSprinter85 I think its the communities all time favourite mode, it was so thrilling and demanded that the player keep on their heels so much that the sense of achievement upon victory, is incalculable

I miss boss hunts as well. I have a few issues with them, especially on ccrraazzzy when someone messes up and we lose half an hour or more of work done, but overall I do love me some boss hunts! So many great memories of getting all the hats unlocked with my friend that I played with for years in GW2, he didn't stay in BfN long, but we played a ton of GW2.
I loved finding the trick to anchoring the champion Torchwood for the spooky squash as a scientist; you could use the mega heal ball and leave your circle, throw it to the other anchor player, and get back in if you moved fast enough, so the champion wouldn't despawn and you could heal the other anchor player. My friend and I beat it on crazy as scientists doing that for each other (we used the beams as they were super important for keeping the candy carrying player alive).
The rush of getting that massive damage buff against the yeti king, the panic as berserkers knocked you out of the shield against the sasquatch, and the last minute revives that saved the whole thing, so many great times among the occasional frustration. Brothers Gnomus always felt odd to me though, as it was far easier than the other 3. Hardest part with that one was making sure people didn't change the shape to the wrong one!
I mostly liked the elite bosses in BfN Ops, since they weren't so long, but ops in BfN are lackluster compared to GW and GW2 ops in the first place, and boss hunts are overall more enjoyable and left a long lasting impression, especially when you beat a boss on crazy after failing it several times!

@TheSprinter85every night for the past 4 days I've been dreaming about boss hunts return, I'm getting so exited!
- stukapooka2 years agoLegend@ForeverKnights Been checking these forums everyday since we got news that this was being looked into. If anything happens good or bad i will not miss it!
- TheSprinter852 years agoHero@ForeverKnights I've already started thinking about different strategies I could use to beat every difficulty of each Boss Hunt.

My initial and overriding strategy before any Boss Hunt is to see my teammates' choice of character.
If in any of the Zombie-based Boss Hunts, I see a gamer of low rank choose a Chomper or Cactus I leave immediately.
Likewise in the Plant-based Boss Hunts, if I see anyone of low rank choose an Imp or Captain Deadbeard the game is lost beforehand and I leave the team instantly. This is based on bitter experience and innumerable attempts at beating the Crazy Boss Hunts (I’m unfortunately missing one, namely Spooky Squash on Crazy)
In general, if there is only one healer (me for example) in any of the more challenging Boss Hunts the chances of getting through the Hunt successfully are minimal and I'd most likely leave, all depending on the rank of my teammates and their choice of character.
I know that this isn't a particularly polite thing to do, but in my view, anybody attempting to take part in a GW2-based Boss Hunt ought to have looked at the innumerable examples on how to successfully get through a Boss Hunt on either YouTube or Reddit. It’s honestly a serious business if one wants to succeed.
I would like to stress that a gamer of high rank who chooses any one of these unsuited characters obviously knows what they are doing, and what the risks involved are when choosing one of them, and I would see the game through.
Otherwise, it is incredibly frustrating to be on a team with teammates who have little understanding of what's required both in terms of character choice and in terms of game mechanics because they haven't researched the requirements for a successful Boss Hunt.
