So I've been trying to unlock as many plants and zombies as possible, but lately, I've been wondering whether the pieces of a character that is not completed yet will carry over to the new PvZ GW 2 game. I have a couple of uncompleted characters with 3 or 4 pieces, and it would be amazing to know whether I can finish them off in PvZ 2 or if I have to keep playing PvZ to complete it.
How to import your characters and redeem your rewards
To import your characters and unlock your rewards, go to the mailbox in the Backyard Battleground, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Once you’ve done this, collect your sticker pack rewards at the sticker vending machines in the Backyard Battleground.
Your imported characters are added to your roster and are available to select as usual.

Well that didn't really answer their question. They're asking if partially unlocked variants, that you have 2/5 stickers for, are transferred as well.
Only fully-unlocked characters transfer over, incomplete ones won't.

This is incorrect, incomplete character pieces do transfer over.
Can anyone confirm the answer to this?

Thanks for correcting me, I hadn't heard of any cases of half-complete characters transferring.
