Don't disregard Butter Beacon!
I think it's caught on better now than at first when people were unhappy about losing butter barrage, but I've found Butter Beacon to be very useful, especially when specced for it or with the legend...

I agree, butter beacon is such an underrated tool and a lot of people sleep on it. Though I feel the duration could be a tad longer in my opinion. To add to your point on why it replaced butter barrage. I think butter beacon really helps in giving his kit more synergy and cohesion because in gw2, his kit felt very button mashy.
