I don't care if a new game gets made tomorrow or ten years from now as all i want is for popcap to actually talk to us rather than just announce a pvz 2 plant every full moon.
Waiting is imo the worst thing popcap can do as the fanbase will just move on the longer they wait to do anything much like they did when bfn had nothing interesting going on for a whole back when it did get updates.
Bfn ops is just really painful. Gw1 despite its lack of content compared to gw2 still had a lot of fun put into like the gimmick waves like "they hunger" where zombies would just wear all food cosmetics. Soldiers took to the rooftops to attack way more than the other games. The zombie classes even taunted you before unleashing attacks like all star giving a thumbs up than launching an imp your way, The infinitely better garden design that I mentioned in a post only like one person read lol.
@stukapooka I just now saw your post and added to it! I somehow missed it.
It's sad that we get so little communication from PopCap these days as it's not a good look for a beloved franchise. PvZ2 needs to stop with all the premium plants and other issues that hurt it, I quit playing it awhile back despite enjoying it a lot. We have all 3 shooters still playable which I do appreciate, but no updates, no patches, not dealing with cheaters well, not giving us decent mystery portals, new players can't get some achievements done, and no news on a new game is a terrible situation. And then we have Heroes that could use some love, along with PvZ3 still in limbo.
People want to play these games and as @pilrpq7unx3c pointed out, if EA would stop just releasing stuff without solid support to make a quick buck, and give it better support and attention, they could actually make more money and also get some goodwill with the fanbase. People love PvZ (it's why I'm still here), and the shooters did very well, even if BfN didn't do anywhere near as well as the GW games. Right now, we have to assume that we are not getting a new shooter anytime soon (if we are, communicate that to us!), and with so many people still playing, and lots of new folks thanks to GW2 going up on Steam, the least we can expect is for people to be able to get the stuff they missed (achievements, hats, legendary bots/pots, etc.) in GW2 since that game's achievements rely on portals and community events, and GW2 is the most popular of all 3. Even if we get a new game out of the blue (unlikely as that is), the current players need solid signs of support for the games we have, still love, still play, and can still pay for!
- stukapooka3 years agoLegend@Iron_Guard8 Pvz 2 is a rollercoaster of a game. I really do like it but it feels so sluggish at points and difficulty spiking later on just make it a chore at times. They keep adding new premium plants and grindy modes but at the same time still havent given the game a solid conclusion or an official pc port (alongside not porting pvz1 to modern consoles despite the fact that the game was basically succesful everywhere back in the day) over almost a decade and it makes you wonder why there even doing a pvz3 if there still supporting 2 this much.
Their twitter is constantly people just telling them to communicate with their fans and one guy's highly rated tweet told them to stop acting like some indie dev team that have fans just waiting in anticipation for their next move as their bleeding fans.
3 is really gonna have to come out of the gate swinging to justify itself existing alongside 2. Im not saying you cant dial things back down a bit but pvz 2 just has so much content at this point.
The gw2 steam port is so strange to me. It came out of nowhere slapped bfn silly with its playercount thats still almost 3x higher today yet they didnt do anything for gw1 or even bother to try andfox the achievement/portal problem despite the fact that they had to create more servers for PC after the steam boost.
If there not gonna talk to us the smartest thing they could do is atleast give the shooters to the community as gw2 at least has a rather strong modding scene that even restores the lost modes.
Its just so headache inducing trying to figure out modern popcap.
