Enemy discussion: Robo zombie and sasquatch imp

Robo zombie and sasquatch imp.

Robo zombie

Uses heavy punch melee and attacks at range with the wrist blaster.

Wrist blaster fires 12 damage slowly but deals a bit of splash damage and heavy punch deals 30 damage and deals knock back.

Appears in super robot waves and robo assualt waves.

Counts as a soldier as he appears in soldier waves during the flag of power.

Health: Easy 180, normal 240, hard 300, and crazy 360. He can survive entire bomb strikes and still keep running.

Has a corporal marking on it so he's the same rank as foot soldier.

Cannot be swallowed by chomper. If you attempt to eat them from the back or front they simply spin with their punch animation and if you try to eat them from below with burrow, they keep your mouth open with both metal feet with both hands on their hips, chuckling and looking forward. What an absolute unit.

Despite having a rocket pack on his back they never actually use it to jump high or fire rockets at you.

However in a cutscene the Champion Robo-Zombie who guards the key points the rockets on his back at you.

In bfn however, he uses his rockets now, using them to jump upwards, similar to th rocket jump. Someone is clearly popcaps golden child when it comes to remembering the special zombies.

Sasquatch imp appears in the sasquatch boss hunt.

He's a brown reskinned yeti imp with a hat that deals fire damage upon explosion.

Robo zombie is an insanely powerful foe to fight and can be a pain to any team that is not prepared for him. Unpopular opinion time: robo zombie should never be a main class. He would invalidate foot soldier and play almost identically to begin with.

I really dislike the new eyes all the bots in bfn have it makes robo zombie especially look much less intimidating.

  • I wouldn't mind robo zombie soldiers being playable but they'd have to be altered a bit or they'd be too good as is. Tweak it a bit, maybe make it a legendary foot soldier variant to explain it's different special abilities, and it could work. Definitely would not work well as is as you point out though.

Not a lot to say about Sasquatch imp, just wish it was a thing more often as I like variety, and are actually less annoying than yeti imps.

@Iron_Guard8 I wouldn't mind then in a special gamemode but them becoming part of the main cast feels like a mistake. A variant would also be weird due to the different hitbox, size, and animations. A swat soldier would suit well as an armored variant as many gw2 mods add him as the electrical clsoe range legendary.

Sasquatch imps were honestly pretty fun to fight as fire isn't too annoying to survive unlike the ungodly amount of ice characters the yeti king throws at you.
  • I always noticed that the Robo Zombie counted as a zombie hero, because I would get XP for vanquishing a zombie hero. I was sort of surprised by this as hero characters are normally playable, however the Robo Zombie is not. I do not find these enemies appear that often, sometimes in story quests or Ops, but generally I find them somewhat annoying, but thankfully not too annoying. Their high health and knockback at close range can make them quite tough to defeat. I would not have to face against multiple of these enemies at the same time. Changes that I would suggest include making them being able to be eaten by Chomper (as sort of a counter to these enemies, although at the same time I do not know if this seems feasible), remove the knockback at close range, and to reduce the damage at long range so they are slightly less annoying at range, although to increase the damage further at close range to make them more of a threat.

The Sasquatch Imp only appears in the Sasquatch Boss Hunt (as you mentioned already) and while I find them quite annoying to defeat as they are small, fast and like to appear in large numbers, they are not as annoying as the Yeti Imps, as they do not freeze you, although the fire damage can deal a lot of extra damage and negate your regeneration for a while. That being said, their threat scale can be made redundant by getting up to a high place where they cannot reach or get up to you. Overall though, I like seeing variants of enemies such as the Sasquatch Imp (fire variant of Exploding Imp) and would not mind seeing them appear more often in the future, even as summonables. Changes I would suggest include reducing their explosion damage but reducing the delay before they explode as well.
