I had the same thing happen, a right rigmarole to get through but I got hold of a lovely person through EA Chat and not only was my progress restored (plants, gems, etc), I didn't have to start all over again but was still in Jade League. It took about half an hour but they sorted it.

Persist and you will get it sorted.
