Giant Update File

So we got a massive update file today with no announcement.  What I know so far:

1)  Players are reporting that they cannot load into any type of multiplayer game whatsoever.

2)  The update file itself provides a clue what it's for: 

"PS4 - Garden Warfare 2 - (Options-Update History) 1.12 *Added narrative event that takes place in the Backyard over several weeks *Added system to unlock tiers of Garden Warfare rewards *Added variations of existing modes for the Weekly Events"

    I only know how it works on PS4.  You press the options button with the game icon selected, and one of the options is to check for updates.

    Hi guys, we've seen the numbers start to return to normal now, is anyone still encountering the issue?

    Hi! Is Wall-nut Hills part of the TT rotation for all players now? I hardly ever get the map like a lot of players.

    I get it regularly.  It's the first on the rotation as far as I can tell.  I don't know why they're adding it for a week as a portal event??  No one I know even likes the map, it's horrible for my k/d for one thing.
