Guilds or Clans

I know I am putting the cart before the horse on this one but, having guilds or clans would definitely boost team play. Max guild membership should be no more than 2x the largest online battle mode. For instance 16vs16 TT would limit guilds to 32 members. Also add a 7 day wait time between leaving and joining a different guild. The possibilities are virtually endless...

Swapping teams so that they are uneven is completely different than learning to play with a core group of players. Team swapping is the basis of unbalanced game play in this game. Individual character types can be countered with opposing characters when set up correctly. There is no counter for 8 on 5 and the likes in online gaming.

I know the benefits of clans/guilds. I've led some in other games and been a member in numerous others. My question is what good is it in a game like this with a miniscule sized player base spread across multiple platforms that will disappear at the drop of an update they dislike... or something better comes along? I mean players were already complaining about not having full lobbies just before the holiday rush.

My point about comparing it to swapping teams is... both team swapping and clans/guilds are ways to stack teams. You want to keep players from stacking teams in one thread, but want to create clans/guilds... to stack teams... in another thread. All you're doing is pushing the issue off to another group of people and resolving the issue for the few that would use it like yourself, but the underlying issue of stacked teams will still exist. In essence, you're pushing the underlying issue off on someone else.

  • @AWMaxSterling Creating guilds would be beneficial for pvm as well. I typically play with family members and help them out when I can. As a 40year old father, I don’t have many online friends so I soloed a lot. I don’t talk a lot unless I know there are other adults on, as I don’t want to sound like the creepy old dude. So having a guild would build allow me to play with mates and get used to their individual play styles so that we could one day be a competitive guild, without seeming like I’m some weirdo talking to kids in a game.

Again, it would have been awesome for some of the pvm quests that I had to do solo. I have also managed to complete most quests in the game and would be willing to assist guild mates in completing these quests as well. It’s all about teamwork for those who may not want to use a mic, or may not have one.

  • @spIash_damage Exactly! I would be more than willing to help out guild mates. Show them some of the ropes I’ve learned and maybe learn some new ones myself.
  • Xbox1. Hopefully one day they will decide on crossplay so us vets can game together.

@GraveledStoopid A competitive mode would be great.  It would be easy to identify as it would be labeled in that way.  So it would be obvious and couldn’t easily be mistaken for something else by the very very few.  It would almost be impossible for someone to think this meant anything else unless they were trying too.

  • @AWMaxSterling You seem to be misunderstanding me. I have never mentioned stacking teams as an issue. I can careless about who plays on a team, I don’t like when it is 100 vs 1 because people are afraid to lose in a video game.

I have never mentioned stacked teams as an issue so I think you have your reply’s confused. Uneven matches are most definitely not “stacked” teams. I also don’t understand how you can assume I’m pushing anything off on anyone when the my whole idea of guilds was so that experienced guild mates could help new comers become more competitive.

I was 1,000% against clans/teams until I saw it completely salvage a dying community on PS3 and Xbox (with UT3).  Because of those teams, the COMMUNITY started hosting tournaments with monster prizes - over $1,000 cash, gaming computers, etc.

The community went on to build custom maps and extended populated servers some 3-4 years as result.

At this point, what would it hurt to try something out?  We shrunk TT to an unplayable state so why not revert it and add a team support function and/or remove Team Swap.  I’m right there with ya. 😊👍
