Harassive developer

Hello, I wanted to tell the community about this subject as it is a strange situation that leaves me scratching my head unsure of what to do. The other day on a public giddy park server, I was playing normally, easily vanquishing people here and there. However, one specific player began showing toxic behavior as he emoted on my corpse when I was defeated. I decided to play ball, and did the same back to him, typical of public servers. However, he took it to a notch higher when he used a mod to vanquish me, specifically some sort of aerial bombardment. And just to clarify, this player had the word “dev” in his name, so I assumed that this was indeed a real moderator (I have never seen a bfn player use cheats like this before). I shrugged it off, but moving forwards, I caught him in a TT lobby and recognizing me, he continued to taunt. I easily beat him and thought nothing of it as the pc player base is quite small and I often run into the same players over and over. This situation quickly escalated as this “developer” intentionally changed his username in an attempt to insult me, so I ignored him but he continues to send me friend requests on origin. Looking through the player list, I find he has began making alts that mock my username, and I finally blocked him. At this point, I know the best thing to do would be to report this player for the harassment as it has clearly gotten too out of hand and would only continue if not put a stop to. However, knowing the individual is probably a bfn developer, I am unsure of how to proceed with this situation, and therefore ask the community what your thoughts are. In my experiences of gaming, never before have I seen something like this, and it is quite surprising to see one of the game’s developers take up to an obsession of trying to get under my skin. Can this be handled some way by any of the moderators? I have the player’s user and if at all possible to have this individual stop his actions before this grows too out of hand?

  • @Stringer2048Hmmm ... what I do not understand is why a developer or moderator or whatnot, would want to be toxic like this and stuff. Interesting. Maybe I could report this to the community managers and see if they have a suggestion for you, perhaps.

EDIT: Disregard my statement. Follow the steps on the next post.

  • This could be just a random person that changed their name to include “dev” in it, as for the cheating, I have seen screenshots of the “arial bombardment” attack before before in a discord server and it’s likely the person used some sort of hacking tool to get the attack. I’m 99% sure that it’s not a dev (I don’t think they even play their own game) and it’s just a hacker that changes their name

  • @Stringer2048 As @1GrainZ1, it was most likely just a random toxic cheater who decided to use the word "dev" in his username. Taking into consideration all of the things the publicly know devs have shared with the community, they all seem like wonderful people. Of course, not many would emphasize their negative traits, but I can't believe they would risk their job in this way just to annoy a player and supporter of their creation.

I have (to my knowledge) only encountered a dev once while playing on PS4. They were testing the Wizard character before release in public matches. The dev I encountered was very bad at playing the game, but used a lot of friendly emotes and gestures. It was quite fun 🙂. Everyone gathered around him in confusion and he even used co-star on me once.

I can only reinforce what others have said; it sounds like someone just claimed they were a dev by putting that in their name and are not an actual dev. I've seen that in other games before as well.
