Yes, that's normal. You can't play online (that's multiplayer mode) with other people in split screen mode. And the last one obviously is for playing alone without anybody so that's crossed out too.
They probably designed this local split-screen for a more casual experience. If you go online in split-screen your performance will be inferior to those with a better FOV and more dedicated memory to a single profile/process. I am not sure, but ps4 & xone hardware could have issues processing 2 alternative games over the same data (again, this is what I think)

If that's not a problem, they should put online split screen

my nephew would love play with me in online split screen, and i'm sure a lot of people have someone to play like this
Earlier we played in two in a multiplayer game, now two modes are crossed (multiplayer mode and another one) and highlighted only the inscription game Private
