Herding the Sheep Guide (Mount Steep)!

Hiya everyone,

In this guide I will cover a somewhat secret activity in Mount Steep, by completing these activity you get a total of 2 medals which cannot be obtained anywhere else so I thought it was worth making a guide about it. It is a very easy activity to actually complete, there is no battling enemies, or any of those sorts of things. It is more a collecting type of activity.

The activity is "herding sheep". Now, you may have noticed that sheep pile that you may have headed past a few times while you are in Mount Steep. Now, that is what I am going to be covering. Just note that this whole activity is located within Olde Town Road in Mount Steep.

What this Herding Sheep Activity is About!

There is a pile of sheep in Mount Steep, in the Olde Town Road area. It is also located near where you first appear in Mount Steep, head to the left for a while once you have appeared and you should not miss it. Now, there are 4 random sheep located throughout the area which you need to collect and bring to the sheep pile. Once you have a sheep and are close enough to it, it will automatically be added to the pile. You can only collect one sheep at a time and, while you have got a sheep, you cannot use your abilities, however you can use your primary attacks, secondary attacks and sprint. I recommend defeating any nearby and potentially annoying enemies before you pick up sheep as you will be unable to use your abilities once you have picked up your sheep, giving you a disadvantage against them. Characters with high health and shield access are useful as you can heavily reduce your chances of being vanquished. Mobility does not really matter because you normally gain extra mobility (apart from sprinting) using abilites, however it is useful when going towards a sheep and picking it up, so it may still be useful to consider.

Location of the Sheep Pile and the Sheep!

What the Sheep Pile looks like when you have not added to it are as follows. I am in the way, I know, but it is only a tower of 2 sheep, surely not that interesting:

The physical location on the Mount Steep of the Sheep Pile on the is are as follows:

Here is the location of each of the Sheep that you need to collect to add to the pile. One of them is on top of the Clock Tower, another one is near the back of the Fort, another is in a Saloon, and the other one is stuck in a Haystack. It is as follows:

1 (On top of Clock Tower):

2 (Behind The Fort):

3 (Inside The Saloon):

4 (Stuck in a Haystack):

The Medals

There are 2 medals you get for completing the Sheep Pile - you get 1 of the medals when you add 1 sheep to the pile, and the other when you have completed the Sheep Pile:

  • Guide in the Wool - you get this medal when you have added 1 of the 4 sheep to the Sheep Pile.
  • Heapin' Sheep - you get this medal when you have added all 4 sheep to the Sheep Pile.

Conclusion

Now, while this activity is easy to complete and do, it is somewhat secret because it is not completely obvious that this needs to be complete, and the Sheep are relatively hidden as well. This guide aimed to show you exactly how to do, as well as the location of the Sheep Pile and the Sheep you need to take there, as well as a couple really brief and short tips. But still, hopefully it still proved to be helpful and I will see you in my next guide! This is also important to know as you are not able to complete your Mount Steep region fully without it.

See you very soon!

Regards

  • @TheSprinter85 Thank you for another in-depth guide 😃.

I have to say I loved this activity / quest when I completed it.

I don't know why, but I had so much fun with it. Maybe because the whole idea seems so random for a game called Plants vs Zombies.

If I remember correctly, Super Mario Odyssee also had such a sheep collecting activity and I loved it there as well.

Same - this is a pretty fun activity so I was happy to do it again to get some footage to add to this guide. I had to take the pictures and videos separately, so it took a while, but as I said, I did not mind doing it again.

All good - I enjoy making them! 👍
