That error tends to be because you have an intel internal graphics card which doesn't meet the minimum requirements for the game.
Would you be able to upload a dxdiag so we can confirm?

EA Staff (Retired)@pepeperon133 - As expected it's the graphics card in your computer that doesn't meet the minimum requirements so unfortunately you wouldn't be able to play the game.

There was a second pre-GW game, however, since it was for Android, I never copied its requirements to my database. Here's a comment I found about it:
there is no system requirement needed for running Plants vs Zombies 2 but the Android Emulator which you need for running Plants vs Zombies 2 on your PC or Laptop or Mac requires the following system requirements.
