Hello @EA_Shepard,
I welcome you to the Plants vs Zombies community and I appreciated the time your taking to communicate with the fanbase. Thank you for your time.
That said. I want to express how I've been a big fan of this franchise since the days of PVZ2 and Garden Warfare that I bought my first gaming console, PS4, because of GW.
But I've greatly disappoint with the direction that EA has taken with this franchise. BFN was in my opinion, a huge disappointment.
Even though, Popcap has no plans to revive the Garden Warfare franchise, I believe that is a mistake that drove away many loyal fans (I stopped playing GW2 since the end of winter 2022).
I would hope that EA would change their minds and announce GW3 is in development. This would bring so much joy to the fanbase who desperately wanting to return.

@agentevil007 Thank you for the welcome. I appreciate it! 💓
We appreciate your feedback on the game. What would you like to see changed in the future with the series? What aspects of the game would you like to see returned?
Cheers!

@agentevil007 of course you're entitled to your opinion, but I completely agree with @Aussiemozzie088 I played a lot of GW1/2, they're fantastic and I would of course, love to see updates, I also play Battle For Neighbourville on Nintendo Switch, each time I go back to play GW2, it just feels so slow because you can't sprint lol, I'm like, oh man, I can't sprint in GW lol.
I've also seen a lot of people wanting Garden Warfare 3, and believe it may actually be in development, it's been a long time, so an announcement could happen at any moment, it could be days, weeks or months away still, but I feel it'll be in EA's best interest to bring it out as they'll make an absolute fortune because of the love a huge number of people have for the franchise. Switch players have brought the community back to life because of a small request, getting the Unicorn Stuffy Hat available for Nintendo Switch players thread. You can click on the link to it by going to page one in this thread and clicking on "Unicorn Stuffy Hat".

PvZ Content Creator here,
If there was something I want from the PvZ franchise in it's current state, it would be passion.
The recent content has been unfavorable and not what the fans have wanted for years. Plants vs. Zombies 3 at its roots is a clone of Gardenscapes, and the changes to the gameplay make it a complete downgrade compared to Plants vs. Zombies 1 and it's sequel. Plants vs. Zombies Match is a cash grab, I don't really need to say much more about it.
I like Battle for Neighborville, but the game changed too much of the format of Garden Warfare 2 to where it felt like it was trying to be another game instead of a sequel to Garden Warfare 2.
All the fans really want from the franchise is just the passion to make something new. Battle for Neighborville and PvZ3 are essentially reboots of the format we originally had, and the majority of the community doesn't favor it. It doesn't have to be Garden Warfare 3, just something new in general that doesn't have the main motive of making quick money.

@EA_Shepard Personally I'd like to see the series return to the Garden Warfare lineup (retaining the name, mechanics and artstyle of GW1 and GW2) and I think that is the general consensus as well. Battle for Neighborville had its merits such as a great PvE campaign with its explorable regions, but a lot of people felt let down by certain drastic changes in the formula from the Garden Warfare series as we generally hoped to see a game that would essentially just keep building on GW2 the way GW2 built on top of GW1.
An ideal scenario for a hypothetical new Plants vs. Zombies shooter game would be a direct sequel bearing the Garden Warfare name which would retain a lot of features from the first two Garden Warfare games such as variants and also retain the artstyle which would in turn also allow to potentially return all the maps from GW1 and GW2 while adding new maps and character variants and a few brand new classes. The Garden Warfare series established an incredible gameplay core that people would love to see more of. Some of my personal suggestions would also be to turn modes like Capture the Taco and Soil Survivors from GW2 into permanent gamemodes in this game and also feature more new PvE experiences in a similar manner to GW2 and BFN.
While a whole new game might be a big thing to hypothesize right now, we would also be quite happy to see content updates return to an existing title, especially Garden Warfare 2. This game to this day still remains beloved by many and still retains a decently sized playerbase. When PvZ GW2 released on Steam last year, the playerbase skyrocketed despite it already being several years since the game was last updated. With this in mind, bringing back content updates to the game stands a chance to not only bring old players back but drastically increase the playerbase with new players. The reviews of PvZ GW2 on Steam are very positive with pretty much all negative reviews pertaining to the issues the game has been having on PC with hackers and server issues the game has had a lot of this year as opposed to negative reviews pertaining to anything related to the actual game itself and how it plays.
I am not sure what EA's future plans for this franchise are but this thread is making me hopeful seeing you guys responding to our feedback, which I'd say all of us in the PvZ community really appreciate.

@agentevil007 I respect you're welcome to your opinion on BfN, but it's very frustrating that you've come here to show hate towards BfN for absolutely no reason, why is it? All you said it's a "huge disappointment", I've played all console games, and if anything, BfN is a fantastic upgrade, take just Chomper for example, you can't shoot your spikeweeds, you haven't got a standard shot, in BfN, you do, in the Garden Warfare games, you can't sprint, in BfN you can, my kids absolutely love all 3, but they love BfN's upgraded abilities, everyone who has commented is a Switch player who love BfN, my kids asked if that means we're not going to get the Unicorn Stuffy hat for Switch players? I just said, I hope that we still do, what I didn't say is, I feel you may have just ruined the chances of that happening, this all started because of the "Unicorn Stuffy Hat" thread for Switch players, please check it out? We all hope Garden Warfare 3 is in development, or even Battle For Neighbourville 2 and that it brings the best of both games together, you should be happy that there has been a resurgence in activity in the Plants Vs Zombies universe on the EA website, if any updates come thru for BfN or GW2, it'll be because of Switch players who are so passionate about BfN, I agree with you that there is fanbase wanting to return, it is absolutely massive, every day I see a lot of people begging for GW3, but please don't show any hate towards our BfN, it's hard enough for us to get the great games on Switch other consoles get like BfN.

@agentevil007 honestly, I haven't played a lot of Garden Warfare 2, but I'm definitely getting into it, and absolutely loving it, I can see why it is so loved, even though I suck at it atm lol, but I have played enough to be able to ask, why do so many people think it's a huge disappointment? If anything Battle For Neighbourville is a great improvement, so what if it's missing certain things from GW1/2, those have nothing to do with the gameplay, the battles is Battle For Neighbourville is just as much fun as the GW games, abilities have been greatly improved, you can sprint, I'll admit the massive backyard is absolutely amazing in GW2, makes Giddy park look tiny lol, I'd love a backyard/front yard in GW3 @EA_Shepard also what is your favourite game in the series? I'd like to request the Unicorn Stuffy hat for us Switch players again lol, hope that's not getting to annoying 😁

@ZorbaKing64 GW2 was a lot of fun. There was so much do to but then BFN came out and we played that for a long time. I remember when Heroes was released I played a lot of mobile games so I still play that for a while. A favorite is hard because there are aspects of GW2 and BFN I really like. I'm more of an achievement hunter and love boss battles so if there are some good boss fights, that is what I level up for the most.

Tough question to answer coz they're all so good, but great answer 😁
I'm slowly (very slowly) getting better at GW2, I'm so new to it, everyone I play against is a pro lol
