Kernel corn

I don't know what has been wrong with you guys lately, but you need to wake up. The first was so much better, it was balanced, not a lot of bugs. This game is just unbalanced garbage. Everytime you guys buff something in this game, it ends up making the game even more unbalanced. Yes and this problem goes to kernel corn. Ever since that buff you gave him like the health buff, it has ruined multiplayer, just the roses, every match I go to have 5-6 kernel corns, specifically BBQ corns. You guys have two choices to fix this, buff foot soldiers health to make it even between him and kernel corn, or nerf kernel corns and health and nerf bbq corns fire rate. Yes kernel corn needs to go right up into battle, so does the foot soldier. I had no problem when kernel corn had 125 health, but now I do. Either you nerf kernel corn or make this game complete trash

  • Corn, especially BBQ Corn, is heavily overplayed - and it doesn't help that so many of them are terrible players. The class itself is practically a flawed crutch - hes great in small engagements, killing things somewhat quickly, but in larger ones, he falls quickly against the tide of superheroes, z mechs, and scientists. Spamming him won't help you win objectives as he's too slow and he lacks the utility to get your team there.

He's not as broken as Electro Brainz, but the BBQ Corn is certainly overtuned compared to the other variants. While I'd love to see the other Corn variants get some love, I DO NOT WANT ANY more months of straight up Corn spam. So yeah, nerf BBQ Corn at least - maybe roll Corn's health back to 125/135. I know that at least Citron is getting some love in the next patch - probably a few other classes too.

Also, Soldier is fine. He's a smaller target than corn and much more mobile. (Try rocket leap for funsies on a few variants)

    Spoiler

Kernel corn is one of the most flop in the plant team. Please don't even compare one of the solid class in the entire game.. the foot soldier with that scrub.
Kernel is barely played on PC and if you try the character yourself you'll understand the reason.

First.. FootSoldier and Kernel ARE NOT COUNTERPARTS.
Footsoldier is backliner/rooftliner (lol) damage dealer. He is a jolly, he can stay in the front of the fight or the back while all -star mech and s.brainz makes your job easier.
Footsoldier has one of the best move in the game.. the rocket leap. It's a "jack of all trades" abilty that allows him to safe his *, or go in a next good attacking position, also you can use that twice consecutively, this ability itself is MORE important that have 25 HP + because he will eventually save you more often.

Kernel is the actual plant frontline together with the Citron.
BBQ is overvalued and the reason why is considered OP it's because has low recoil and fire dot and because Imp are abused. If Imps weren't abused, BBQ weren't considered overpowered. Infact BBQ is the only good variations of this class.

Pop has a bad damage range drop off.
    Mob is kinda a joke.
And not to mention Kernel Corn. Have you seen his bullets dispersion? Or the recoil when moving and shooting? Or the damage range drop off?
He should be a damage dealer, but the only thing that do damage in his kits are those skills, which are pretty situational.

Stuck Shot is not any good since Zombies are extra mobile and don't tend to root themselves to the ground.. still decent against Mech though.
Husk Hop seems cool, but the fact you can't control perfectly your position and shoot what you want makes this move very good in teamvanquish when doiung 1vs1 but more like a kamikaze move in turf.

When i play Imp i'm more likely to hate every single BBQ Corn, because of low recoil and fire. Pratically what i mean. BBQ corn is the only good corn, not the overpowered one. His entire kit depends on his weapon rather than his "random damage skillset" experience
Also he doesn't deserve HP nerf, more likely some variations still need a buff.
The reason is overplayed on console is because casual wants character that can do all by theirselves and don't have to rely on his team-mates.
I would like to see him nerfed too so people will not abuse him, but nerfing a character that is already bad because i hate it it's kinda selfish.. that's why in my thread i suggested some cool survival options for other plants.

  • It not because someone is popular that is OP.

Kernel corn needed the extra health not only because of his role as a front-line fighter but also because of his rather big hitbox. Like everyone said,he's great for fighting 1v1 or just bringing up damage all along, but lack utility and mobility. With his sole movement tool being coupled with a effective damage tool.

If anything,BBQ corn just need a tiny nerf to his long range damage (which he didn't needed) and maybe his ammo count, everything else is fine for him.

A good Corn can play every single Corn and is a valuable addition to your team and can help you to break up the enemy defensive line, and I appriciate these players. Saddly, they are incredebly rare. Your typical console Corn spams BBQ Corn and is cannon fodder for Scientists, Imps and Super Brainz, and they make up the majority of a typical Plant team on the PS4. This is my point of view on Kernel Corn.

  • BBQ corn is solid, but he is not OP or broken. The soldier and the Kernel are also not counterparts no matter how you define their rolls.

  • I agree that BBQ is not OP but simply different from foot soldiers (as most people tend to compare it to).  Corns are extremely slow and therefore need that extra health, which was added later because the class was useless before the first balance patch.  There are many ways to counter a corn, but as people stick to the same 2 or 3 same characters over and over, you'll never learn to counter them.  There aren't as many corns in pvp as some claim.
