Kid 12 years old can't play pvzgw2, game rated for 7+

Kid 12 years old can't play pvzgw2, game rated for 7+ years old. Game starts and shows a screen with text : "Connecting: you are too young or don't have the correct permission to access online features"

You have to be 13+ to create an EA account, is this EA account restriction stopping him from playing? If so, why is the game then rated 7+ not 13+? Or is there an option to play the game without online features? I can't see how to start the game without being requested to connect to EA network and hit this "too young" error. Or is this PS4 restrictions of online features?

    Underage accounts limit access to features like purchases, social media connections, and online play. 

    The minimum age required to have a full access account varies depending on the country's local laws. In the United States, you can have a full EA Account if you are 13 years old or older.

    Xbox and PlayStation typically require account holders to be 18 years old to have a full access account, however, you can adjust the parental controls to allow access to different features.

    Hi @EA_Zoe ,

    Even if I put the PS parential control to allow any content he still hits this error on startup of the game without any chance to log on with an EA account.

    What setup of PS / EA accounts allows him to play the 7+ rated game?

    The rating of the game and the laws around online play and children are different, this is the reason why games' solo modes are playable by underage players but that in-game purchases and access to online features such as chat and instant messagery will be limited.
