Leveling system

Dear Pop-cap,

i really enjoy plants vs zombies garden warfare 2, i love it so far and i am super excited for the balance update later tonight! it looks fantastic. But i will say and ask if you could please do something to the leveling system. i personally think its unfair to prevent players from leveling up their main rank( not the individual character rank) by not using other characters. I personally only enjoy playing the zombies side, i  can play the plants side but i don't enjoy the game as much as i do when i am on the zombies side. I would one day like to reach the max rank but the only way to do that is by playing each character and getting them to master and personally that seems just like a chore having to play characters i don't enjoy to just be able to continue to ranking up. i know some may disagree, but i think it would be nice if i still get rewarded  by playing characters that i do enjoy and continue to level my personal rank(1-99) even though that character is already at master tier.  I am very much enjoying the game  and i really looking forward what more you guys have to come! thank you for your hard work 🙂

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   sincerely, newb

  • How is playing as the same character only fun? if you play as different variants you will learn to master them most likely. Then you might have a new favorite character. This is what the new ranking system was for. To prevent people from using the same character over and over even if they are maxed out.

that's your choice? if i want to only play 5 different  characters  that's my choice, being able to still rank up while at master isn't that much to ask. I don't feel like mastering 100 different characters, not that i can't. this game is extremely easy when it comes to skill level. i just have my favorites and i would think its nice to play your favorite character and still be able to rank up even at master tier.

  • So you want the return of challenges like in PVZGW 1? because thats exactly what it is. You can play your game how ever you want but you will regret it later when people are maxed out and your like level 300

Variety is the spice of life...so they say.

It's nice that they're prodding people to try different things. Certainly had a lot of fun trying to break the meta back in gw1. It makes you realize the niches some variants bring to the table.

Who knows though? Perhaps they'll add more mastery levels later on in this games life. You'll still need to branch out a bit to get those levels though....

  • The rank is meaningless, and doesn't at all represent a players skill - why would you care?

That rank is there to show dedication, and if you're only dedicated to half the characters, your overall rank should represent half of the total?

Not that I disagree with you, I doubt I'll ever play the majority of the variants either because some of them are boring, and don't suit my play style. Unless they induce some super special rare variant that requires you to hit max, I don't think I'll bother again after the Unicorn.

  • I agree with 2coolX here, they are trying to motivate players to use and test all the different classes and enjoy variety. If you're a completionist chances are high that you'll be proud to expose your high level badge. This is the main "progression" system in this game and it is there to pacify both types of players, those who need to experience the evolution and those who are happy playing one class. How can you get fat if you only eat apples? Please reconsider your thoughts and don't ask for something you don't deserve.
