LOVE the new Frontline Flats map

I LOVE the new map. My little team stayed up way too late playing it last night.

Unless I am mistaken, I noticed changes in the game on this map. The icons showing the location of AI enemies were much more detailed, showing exactly which zombies were coming around the corner. And (on normal difficulty) the AI zombies seemed much more coordinated as well, using more firepower, more abilities, and just harder to defeat in general - a little bit more like human enemies.  I'm curious if anyone else has observed similar?

I haven't played GW1 a whole lot, but from what I've seen this is indeed much more like it.

  • I haven't quite noticed any changes in the AI opponents but I've spent more time in Multiplayer recently since it's generally easier to rank up your characters there. With my more recent forays into Ops to get acquainted with the new character variants the AI opponents seemed pretty much the same.

One difference I have noticed is with the Super Boss Waves. Unless I'm not remembering correctly Super Boss Waves used to spawn one Boss character and then roll out the second and third simultaneously a short time afterwards along with the second wave of Weeds/Browncoats and AI Heroes. Now that spawn is reversed with the first and second Boss characters spawning simultaneously with the first wave and the third Boss spawning with the second wave.

It doesn't sound like a big deal but with some Super Boss Waves, like Yeti and Super Bean, the reversed spawn makes it more likely that you'll be battling all three Boss characters at the same time.

If you get a chance, try an ops game on the new map.  I'm pretty certain there are some visual differences.  I didn't notice any difference on the old maps, but I might just have been oblivious.

  • Haven't had a chance to play on the new map just yet. Is it an "arena" map, or a Turf Takeover map?

It's an "Arena" map or a map besides "Turf Takeover."

  • Everyone is ignoring the new awesome map because they won't play anything other than Turf. Please help, Devs.

This new map might motivate me to play Team Vanquish more instead of TT. The problem I have with Team Vanquish is that it doesn't really complement all play styles very well like TT does. It rewards vanquishers more than supportive classes... TT's great for all classes. That's mainly why I haven't spent too much time in Team Vanquish. Perhaps Suburbination is more support-friendly? 🤔

I haven't tried it with multiplayer yet except in the mystery portal event, which is hardly representative of typical vanguish modes, but it's fantastic for garden and graveyard ops.
