The Elder Peashooter (Feat. Sproutling Companion) PVZ GW2
Hello PvZ Community and EA/PopCap Team,
I'm excited to share a concept for a unique Peashooter variant focused on Support, Area Control, and Dual-Unit Gameplay. This character would bring a fresh, defensive, and strategic approach to the plant team!
🌿 I. Character Overview
• Name: Elder Peashooter (or "Granny Pea")
• Class: Peashooter Variant
• Role: Support / Area Control. A slower, defensive fighter who relies on her permanent AI companion to excel.
• Appearance: Grey-green color scheme, wrinkled texture, round glasses, and a knitted lavender-grey shawl.
👵 II. Core Gameplay: Dual-Unit System
The Elder Peashooter operates as two units on the battlefield: the player-controlled Grandma Pea and her permanent AI companion, the Sproutling.
UnitDetailsGrandma Pea (Player)Movement Speed is reduced by ~15% compared to a standard Peashooter (reflecting her age). She has slightly higher max health to compensate for her slower movement.Sproutling Supporter (AI)Permanent Companion. A smaller, lighter-green Peashooter who walks and fights alongside Grandma Pea. She fires rapid, low-damage Sprout Shots from a bean sprout (beabron) held in her mouth.Sproutling KO MechanicThe Sproutling has low health. If she is vanquished, she is KO'd for a moderate duration (e.g., 20 seconds), leaving Grandma Pea vulnerable until she automatically respawns.
💥 III. Primary Weapon
• Weapon: Soothed Shots
• Effect: Fires grey peas that deal moderate damage.
• Unique Property: Each hit applies a Minor Slow debuff to the zombie for a very brief duration (effective for controlling aggressive targets).
✨ IV. Unique Abilities
Her abilities are designed to control space, provide healing, and offer crucial cover for her slower movement.
SlotNameDescriptionL1/LBComforting Tea KettleThrows a kettle that creates a large AoE steam cloud. Zombies are significantly slowed and debuffed inside. Plant Allies gain minor, continuous health regeneration.R1/RBSturdy Cane HopA quick, low-profile dodge. She uses a vine-like walking cane to perform a rapid dash in any direction. Crucial for escaping danger due to her reduced base movement speed.Triangle/YAged Plant PotGrandma Pea quickly deploys a durable, stationary plant pot that acts as a temporary piece of cover/shield (like a barrier). Both the Elder Peashooter and the Sproutling can use it to block fire.
🌟 V. Legendary Meter: Grandma's Best
• Activation: Fills by dealing damage, healing allies, and having the Sproutling Supporter score hits.
• Effect: Upon activation, the Elder Peashooter, the Sproutling, and all nearby plant allies receive a powerful, temporary boost:
• Steady Hands: Greatly reduced weapon spread and recoil (better accuracy).
• Moral Support: Strong, continuous health regeneration tick.
🎁 VI. Acquisition Method: The Christmas Heist Event
To introduce the Elder Peashooter and her unique dual-unit gameplay, we propose a special, temporary Christmas Quest Event that fully integrates her backstory.
📜 Quest Title: "Grandma's Christmas Crisis"
StageDetailDescriptionSetupDr. Zomboss's Christmas HeistThe Elder Peashooter appears in the Backyard Battleground (near the Plant Base) with a distress icon. She reveals that Dr. Zomboss has kidnapped her granddaughter, the Sproutling Supporter, and is holding her hostage.Phase 1Zomboss's RansomZomboss appears on a screen, demanding a massive 2,000,000 Coins to return the Sproutling. This incentivizes players to grind and pool their coin reserves.Phase 2The Collection GoalPlayers must collectively contribute 2,000,000 Coins to the Elder Peashooter in the Backyard Battleground. (The total collected coins could be tracked server-wide or individually based on implementation).Phase 3The BetrayalOnce the coins are paid (or the personal/community goal is met), Zomboss pockets the coins and, predictably, reneges on the deal. He declares he will keep the Sproutling and unleashes a massive, challenging Horde/Infinity Wave of Z-Tech Santa Zombies and other winter-themed enemies right there in the Backyard Battleground.FinaleRescue Mission & RewardPlayers must defeat this overwhelming final wave. Upon success, Zomboss retreats, the Sproutling is safely recovered, and the Elder Peashooter, grateful for the rescue and recognizing the player's dedication, is unlocked as a playable character variant.
🎄 Event Note
This event structure rewards player engagement, creates a sense of community achievement (if server-tracked), and provides an exciting, memorable final challenge perfectly timed for the holiday season.
