What are Sheriff Badges?
If you are still new to the game, you may not be familiar with what Sheriff Badges actually are. They are the "main currency" of Mount Steep. These Sheriff Badges are important to get hold of because you will need a significant amount of them in order to complete your whole Mount Steep region. You can obtain them quite easily through doing the Story Mode and from obtaining other collectibles, but they can be hard to get in big amounts. It may also be worth mentioning that there are finite amounts of things you can spend your Sheriff Badges on - but there is one exception to this, you can also trade them in for coins, which is handy if there is nothing else that you are able to spend your Sheriff Badges on, or if you have an excess of them.

Ways to Obtain Sheriff Badges
There are many ways to obtain Sheriff Badges throughout Mount Steep. By doing the Main Story, obtaining some collectibles, or vanquishing enemies in your Mount Steep region, you will earn Sheriff Badges. If you would like some specific ways of obtaining relatively large amounts of Sheriff Badges in a fairly short space of time, some ways of earning Sheriff Badges effectively are shown below. Just note that you should complete the Main Story first before trying to collect a lot of Sheriff Badges, otherwise not all the options here will be available for you to do:
- Complete story mode quests.
- Defeat Major Problem.
- Start and complete Battle Zones.
- Open chests located around Mount Steep.
- Complete all of the Ops Challenges, Bounty Hunts, Battle Chests or similar activities.
- Repeat activities you have completed, although you will receive less.
Where You Can Spend Sheriff Badges
The main way of spending your Sheriff Badges is at Sergeant Peel's shop in Mount Steep. From the shop, you can earn some unique items, as well as items that will help you complete your region. However, for some of the Gnome Activities, such as some of the Gnomoliths, you will also need to spend Sheriff Badges to complete them, so try to have extra Sheriff Badges when you aim to complete your Gnome Activities.

There is a shop in Mount Steep. The shop is run by Sergeant Peel and are the main way that you are able to spend your hard-earned Sheriff Badges. It is located in Olde Town Road in the fort where a bunch of plants hang out. Things that Sergeant Peel sells at his shop include special costumes, victory slabs, sets, maps for collecting chests and golden gnomes located around the region and more. You unlock more items for purchase in his shop by earning more Medals in Mount Steep, and when you have collected every available medal in Mount Steep, you will unlock every item in his shop.

Associated Medals
By collecting Sheriff Badges throughout Mount Steep, and when buying items in Sergeant Peel's shop, you earn some Medals for your efforts. Here are the associated medals you should know about for completing these related activities:
- Helper-In-Law: Collect 100 Sheriff Badges in your region.
- Merit Badge: Collect 250 Sheriff Badges in your region.
- Badges of Honor: Collect 500 Sheriff Badges in your region.
- Turn In Yer Badges: Buy an item from Sergeant Peel.
