In Weirding Woods at the Z-Tech Factory, there's a character who named Tim who is a wizard. (It is unconfirmed that he is a wizard, but his design lines up with wizards in PvZ 2.) A reference to Tim the wizard in Monty Python's The Holy Grail.
Another reference to the movie Dumb and Dumber can be found on a sign with a crescent roll reading "Crumb and Crumber."
On the turf takeover map Peachy District, there is a museum with a dinosaur skeleton emerging from it. The museum closely resembles the town hall in the movie Back to the Future. The reference becomes even more clear from the time on the large clock at the center top of the build, which appears to read 10:04. This is the same time the town hall is struck by lightning in Back to the Future.
