multi-players for plants vs. zombies
my kids want to play multi players on plants vs. zombies garden warfare but it wants more than one xbox live account. how do they play multiplayer on their one xbox account?

The game only allows you to play one person at a time online, there is no split screen multiplayer.
Xbox one has split screen cooperative mode but that is offline.
Correction: Splitscreen on Xbox One is still online, as it needs to access the account's inventory and challenges.

It may be online, but it sure doesn't access the account's inventory or challenges. Otherwise it would give them their own plants, and customizations or unlocked items, they'd earn their own coins, and complete their own challenges. It just chooses an account, that's it.
Xbox One Only had split screen multi-player of zombie waves, not online pvp.
If they both have an account on the xbox, they both need to have their account signed into and just hit ready with both controllers.
If you're playing on 360, it doesn't have any form of co-op because the system can't handle it.
