Night cap isn't a bad character idea at all, and I love her vocalizations. My biggest beef with this character are her main weapon's sudden drop off to zero which makes normal attacks frustrating and how Fung Fu has been adjusted so many times and still feels 'off'. I still feel she should be more of a single target focused assassin as she's a kind of stealth Ninja so that would make more sense in context. She suffers a lot from what all stealth characters do in these games; from the spy in TF2 to Skye in Paladins, and anywhere else I've seen them; people really hate getting taken out by characters that can go invisible, even if the actual character isn't that difficult to deal with.
Casting Shadows is an ability I overall like, but they buffed it too far and now it's more annoying than gravity grenade is in GW2 as it combines the suction effect with a large area that obscures a portion of the battlefield from the zombie players. Yes, you can shoot into it, but placed well it also blocks seeing stuff behind it. I'd be fine with it just losing that suction effect and I can't see it needing any other changes.
Fung Fu has been a mess. It was too powerful at first, but has been altered several times and due to how it works, we still get suicide nightcaps, but the better ones make good use of this thing as a finisher and then get out of there. I'd like them to make it work, make it useful, and not overdo it.
I like shadow sneak a lot and that telltale trail isn't that easy to see in most battles as all 3 shooters have a lot of visual 'noise'. Not a fan of invisible, or worse, invulnerable characters affecting capture points, like you mention here though. She's not that hard to spot when the battles are smaller or in quiet moment, but those are pretty rare.
Stealth characters have never really faired well in multiplayer shooter. They are either given broken stealth or a cheap tactic that only really ticks people off while still being generally weaker than other characters. Spy generally fairs better than the others because his abilities/weapons allow him to multitask and play mindgames with the enemy team rather than just being the backstab guy. He also has to be visible and undisguised to cap/defend which makes him unable to cheese the rather small points in tf2.
Casting shadows is just too good when you use it offensively. If it worked the way it was intended it would be fine but instead we have gravity grenade but better.
I've found that Fung Fu is mainly a death sentence nowadays with how many Superbrainz are running around.
