EA actually never mentioned why they cancelled Battle for Neighborville but I am guessing that it has something to do with not making as much profit as they would have liked, which is a shame as the game still seemed to have potential and it looked like the game was going to be supported for years to come.
I would still like to see updates to a current shooter and/or a new shooter in the future as the franchise as a whole still seems quite popular and has a lot of potential, and in addition, the games seem quite populated when I play on Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

Other sources put player counts for the gw games in the 9 million range while Bfn was below 2 million.
The marketing was also extremely poor as they released the founders trailer the same day it launched.
They also were apparently extremely low and running out of budget over the course of updating the game.
This goes into more detail: https://youtu.be/vSaWJB9Rq30 If you cancelled BFN (sunsetted it) then why is it still sold on on Steam (heck. there was even a discount organized by EA) along with it being still sold on EA website? Isn't it just a rude, scummy way for you guys to make money? You really think people are that stupid to not refund a not working game? I bought the game but it was stuck on a white loading screen. that is why I refunded it on steam
