Online Splitscreen PvZ Garden Warfare Xbox One

I was hoping that an EA representative could explain to me the decision to not include split screen for online multiplayer in PvZ Garden Warfare for the Xbox One. Clearly the game has no problem rendering multiple screens at once, as illustrated by the Garden Ops split screen mode. Therefore, I doubt it's a technical restriction. Moreover, the framework for split screen already exists so it would be easy to implement for online mode (I program so if you want to tell me otherwise please explain in full detail). Additionally, I can tell you right now that my friends and I have been really enjoying this game, and that we are somewhat frustrated that we have to switch off when we play online. I believe that in addition to improving customer satisfaction, including online split screen would also increase your sales, as many gamers are looking for new true couch co-op games as so few exist in the current market (my friends and I are all in college if you're wondering about the demographics here). I can tell you right now that I was on the fence about buying this game initially, but that I would have bought it in a heartbeat if it had included online split screen. Anyways, sorry if this is sloppily written, but I would like to better understand EA's decision here, as I am really disappointed that such a great game chose not to implement this feature.
